Re: The Alien, the Beast and the Broken City (Open RP - All Welcome)

"Perfect." She said and fell into her shadow, disappearing. The bus flew through the air, Meg appeared from the shadow of the building behind the monster. Now looking like a shadow herself, she raised her hand up, causing the shadow under the beast to wrap around its ankles, either to trip it, or at least keep it in one place so the other two could track it.

She kept an eye on the others. Opening another portal while concentrating on the beast would be nearly impossible, but she always kept an eye out for the others who fought with her.

The fact that Sang was just standing there, ready to take a full hit from the bus did seem suspicious, as if they had a plan, but Flipside didn't want to take that risk. He ran forward, managing to get one tap on the bus as it flew in the air, immediately backing up. He grunted as the bus suddenly became a lot lighter, which would either make the hit less impactful, or make a comeback using it easier as Flipside could just reset the gravity of it.

Flipside nodded as he listened. They said stronger, but.. then again, you couldn't really beat something down without making it angrier and angrier. What if it hit itself, though? It was certainly an idea. Flipside decided to be the first to make an actual direct attack. As he sprinted towards the beast, he fell towards the beast, going for a forceful kick to the head, which would be followed by him continuing to fall a little bit away from it before landing on the ground again.

Flipside was able to manipulate the density of the bus enough to severely weaken the impact. The bus hit at the same time as Flipside hit the beast full on. As the bus slid along the road a blue smear of what appeared to be gel stretched out from where Sang had been standing. It appeared as though he had been squished by the bus and his liquidy innards dragged down the road. It looked like the end for Sang even though Flipside had made an effort to save him.

Flipside’s kick landed true forcing the beast’s head to slam against a building. The impact was strong enough for the concrete of the building to give and a large hole to form where the beast hit. The creature shook its head then roared with anger. When it tried to turn to face Flipside it realized that the shadows had come alive under its feet and grabbed ahold of his ankles. For now, the beast was preoccupied trying to pull itself free from the shadow ropes. It yanked and pulled each leg up trying to get free. Eventually it would pull its legs out of the shadow bindings but it would take a few seconds for that to happen. Those few second were long enough for the heroes to mount an offensive.

The blue goo smear on the road started to spark with blue energy bolts. Here and there they popped and zapped until the smear itself started to glow. The liquid swirled up into a twister, sucking up every drop of the spilled goo until it reformed into Sang. His eyes started to glow a bright orange and as he stretched out both arms toward the beast, Ki energy build up and swirled down his arms until two balls of blue energy rocketed off at the monster. Upon impact they exploded with ferocity. Two clouds from the explosions drifted up into the sky leaving only a bewildered and yet still stuck monster teetering in their place.

"My turn..." Meg sang and, jumping out of the shadow at its feet, and she ran up the beasts back. Withh the force of a compact car, she drove her legs down into the center of its skull, being pulled down by the shadows around her to make the hit harder than just her weight could cause.

She hoped the shadows at the beast's ankles would hold a little longer, but she felt them starting to give.

He let out a sigh of relief as Sang wasn't dead. That would've been a major tragedy. As the shadows were keeping the beast's ankles in place, and they were being bombarded by Ki and kicks, Flipside made two realizations.

One, they were pinned. One force was keeping its ankles down, one keeping its chest down, and one sandwiching it's head between a pair of feet and the concrete.

Two, it wouldn't take very long at all for that to SERIOUSLY tick off the beast, making it probably stronger and more dangerous. Flipside was going to use his signature move. Flipside took these couple of free seconds to really concentrate, his eye sparking once more, in layers this time as he was getting ready to basically transfer as much of his gravitational powers as he could muster into his arms and bat. This might be enough time for the beast to break free and stand..

But this was what Flipside needed.

The beast had had enough. It roared loud enough to deafen anyone who was too close. It swung a large arm up over its head in an attempt to grab at the girl stomping on his head. His intent was to send her sprawling into the building across the street. At the same time the increased strength of the beast allowed it to pull both legs free at once with a leap. It landed and the ground trembled. Turning its gaze toward Flipside and just behind him, Sang, the beast roared again and charged the closer of the two. Flipside was still charging his attack as the beast leapt toward him. In less than a blink of an eye, Sang appeared in front of the beast stopping its forward momentum. Sang’s intent was to buy Flipside the few extra seconds he needed.

A flurry of attacks pummeled the chest and face of the beast. Though Sang was hitting hard enough to shatter concrete, the beast seemed less then phased by the onslaught. Sang hit more and more to the point where his fists looked like blurs. Sang got in close and was pounding away at the creature’s chest. Blow after blow impacted the beast forcing it back a step then another. It looked as though Sang might have the upper hand with his rapid flurry of blows. That was until the beast grabbed Sang by the head and lifted him high in the air. Soon the struggling Sang’s back was brought down over the knee of the beast. A normal man might have been broken in half by this. After the vicious attack the creature threw Sang into the air. He crashed through several buildings one after the other until he finally came to a halt in an office floor. Many of the cubicles were destroyed by the intrusion of the flying Sang. Luckily no innocents were hurt. The area had already been evacuated, luckily.

Sang slowly raised himself back up to his feet and stumbled before catching himself on one of the building supports. He hoped that he had bought the time that Flipside needed. He was also concerned for Meg, wondering if she had been injured. Sang had another trick up his sleeve, but he was unsure if it would work or not. He started to make his way back to the combat site slowly. This left the beast staring at Flipside and growling deeply.

Meg was grabbed and thrown. As her body hit the building, it dissipated into a smokey shadow, before materializing on the ground, just at the buildings base. She felt her shadows snap and return to the ground.

Cursing, she watched the attack by the short blue guy. Just when she felt he was making an impact, he was launched through several buildings until he finally stopped.

"!@#$..." She said under her breath as she noticed Flipside was still charging up. She ran to distract the big dumb oaf a little longer. As she ran around it, she stretched her hands towards the ground, gathering shadows around her hands as she did so.

When she was finally in front of the beast, she shouted, "hey ugly! I'm not done with you yet!" Then, she threw the ball of solid dark shadow at its head. The shadow would be as hard as lead if it connected with its target.

Tunnel vision. Him and the beast. That's what he saw, mainly. It was almost as if strands and branches of purple and green were growing on his eyesight as a path opened between the two, but with one inbetween them. They both bought enough time. When the first cut opened on his wrist, he knew it was probably time to go. With a bubble blowing up from gum probably nobody knew he had in his mouth, he bit down on it, falling towards the beast as he lightly flipped over the other teammate, cocking his bat back, not even a foot away from the beast.

"IT'S A HOOOOOME RUUUN!" The air was almost like a loud whistle as the bat slung forward. If it made contact with the beast, it would be in a world of pain most likely compared to the other hits the male had made on it. A force great enough to even completely shatter the baseball bat, aside from the handle. Flipside would also feel VERY worn out afterwards, hit or not.

Re: The Alien, the Beast and the Broken City (Open RP - All Welcome)

The Savage Void raged as the heavy shadows made contact with his face. It forced the large beast back several steps. More so the shadow stuck around impeding his view of his surroundings. That was when the crack of the bat, which shattered upon impact, echoed through the streets of Metropolis. It sent the beast sprawling into a parked car which he crushed on impact. The creature laid among the twisted metal, intertwined with the remnants of what was left of the vehicle. Sang had made it back into the area just in time to see the double attack from his allies that seemed to have put the beast down. He hovered in the air not far from where the creature lay on the crushed car.

Meanwhile, across town at the Saint Corp tower, a woman watched on a closed circuit monitor at the scene with the beast and three heroes. She intertwined her fingers as she watched in the darkened room. The only light came from the monitor and its flicker was enough to illuminate her soft features. She seemed pleased as her drone filmed the devastation in the area. “It works perfectly.” She muttered to herself. “Soon I will be able to launch the SRA and gain control over all the superpowers on this planet.” She chuckled to herself. “One last thing.” She said pausing a moment. She stood from her large chair and closed her eyes. “Rise and continue, my pet.” She whispered. Her eyelids parted slowly reveling a swirl of blue energy racing around each eye. The woman, dressed in a very professional business skirt outfit, walked to the opposite side of the room and smirked. The energy had waned from her eyes. She pressed a palm against the wall and a moment later a digitized door appeared opening to a secret elevator. She entered and was scanned by the security system before the lift started heading down. Upon arrival the digital doors opened again to a large laboratory.

All manner of creatures, beasts and metahumans floated in vats of odd liquids, were locked in cages or being experimented on by various scientists. Desiree Saint stepped out of the lift to the railing of the catwalk and looked down with approval.

Back in the streets of Metropolis, the beast suddenly growled and began pushing its way up and free of the car debris. If anyone looked closely they would have seen the blue energy swirl in the creature’s eyes for a split moment. With a shake of its head the creature threw back its arms and roared. It lifted the remnants of the car, ripped it in two. One half was flung toward Flipside and the other toward Megera. The beast was showing some signed of fatigue, however, its rage or soemthing else seemed to be overriding it.

The blue warrior sighed and hung his head a moment before gritting his teeth. Sang had a trick up his sleeve, but he was unsure how well it would work. He determined there was only one way to find out. He scanned the beast’s body until he found a gash in its back that had not yet healed over. That was his opening. Sang’s body swirled into a mass of blue gel and sped to the target. Almost as if being absorbed through the wound, Sang’s gel form splashed against the back of the beast until it was all apparently absorbed inside of the creature. For a moment the creature stumbled and grasped its head with both hands. It roared loudly as if an internal conflict had begun. The two on the outside would see the creature stumbling back and punching itself in the head as if trying to expel something from its mind.

The creature’s eyes went from glowing orange, a Sang trademark, back to the pitch black they normally were. As the beast fought itself Sang’s voice could be heard emanating from the creature. “Now! Take it out now! I cannot hold it much longer, the rage…” His voice was cut off abruptly. All of Sang’s energy was focused at keeping the creature at bay long enough for the others to finish this fight.

Meg watched the bat attack and smiled as the beast fell backwards. Apparently beaten. She smiled and sighed, and was about to congratulate her temporary teammates when the beast rose again, the glow in its eyes not naturally and wasn't there before.

"Perfect." She said through gritted teeth. As the car pieces flew at Meg and Flipside, shadows rose up and diverted the path of them, keeping the heroes safe. The voice of the little blue guy spoke through the monsters mouth.

"Easier said than done!" She shouted back and looked around. With Sang inside, forcing shadows into the monster to split it to pieces wasn't an option. But what about the Void? "Worth a shot." She told herself.

She raised her hand to the shadow of a nearby building. "Hey, Blue dude!" She shouted to Sang. As she shouted, the shadow of a nearby building lifted off the ground and started to swirl, forming an oval big enough for the monster to fit through. The oval of shadow was darker than anything likely to be seen by a normal person. It was the color of absolute nothingness. "If you can, walk that big oaf into the portal. I think he should get a taste of my world." SHe smiled and held it open, but her arm was shaking from the effort.
