Burnley Devastated! New details on the Villain Slug-fest!
The flashing banner across the screen alerts you and you brace yourself as the co-anchors with their shiny teeth and perfect hair appear.
"Hello, I am Chet Baker, and this is Gotham News NOW!. New details have emerged about the recent attack on the Burnley area in Downtown Gotham." He said, an image, of an entire building being torn apart by monstrous vines, appearing in the corner of the screen.
"Starting less than one month ago, Gotham city was greeted by a new nightmare as one of it's historic districts was torn apart by the notorious super-villainess, simply called 'Jane'. However new reports are emerging that may shed more light on this situation. We go live to the East End Police station with Vicki Vale, for more."
The scene changed, showing red-headed Vicki Vale standing just outside the police department, armored guards right behind her blocking access. "Thank you Chet," She said, "Minutes ago Commissioner Gordon released information that the culprit Jane had not been stopped by masked heroes as originally thought, but fellow villains. In a shocking turn of events it appears that her sometimes comrades, a local gang rumored to have ties with smuggling in Gotham and South America called the Hoods, dished out some serious punishment on Jane, stopping her rampage through Burnley."
A choppy cell-phone video began playing, shot from a dark room several stories up, and out a broken-in wall. It showed a conglomeration of villains working their way past the vines of Jane and one finishing blow with a dagger, delivered by a boy, ending it all.
"It is unclear yet why the Hoods took such drastic action, only that they seem to be policing their own to some extent and that one of their members, Jane, is now dead. Back to you Chet."
