¤ Mayhem in Midway City part 1 (CONCLUDED) ¤
Midway City, Michigan- Midway City Museum
Within the swirly bleak regions of shadowy darkness. Beside monolithic skeletons of age-old civilizations and species. Curator Carter Hall laborously tries to refashion and reconnect a section of the Historical Civilizations exhibit showcase. After an apparent break in and theft. Only debris left behind. But fir such a randomly odd crime scene. The man who is better revered as Earths Hawkman, Katar Hol still tries to investigate matters. Unbeknownst him, the lurking doombringer of his past ...reality.... awaits proper timing to spring from the murky darkness. A foe of old, and new...reborn.

As Hawkman was looking at the damage done, he would have heard a small cough, as if someone was trying to get his attention. "Umm... Mr... Hawkman sir?"
A small, slightly chubby boy stood behind the hero. He stood slightly over four tall, and had dirty blond hair. He looked up with big green eyes, And smiled slightly. "Is that really you?!" He asked in an excited whisper. He was wearing a tshirt with Hawkman on it, and cardboard wings on his back.
Just then, a slightly taller, more athletic boy jumped off of a over turned display and walked towards them. "Of course it is, eagle... look at his back!" He had slicked back black hair, and bright blue eyes. He had strong features and wore all black with a Batman shirt on. "Hello, Hawkman. It's nice to finally meet you."

An otherwise scowling mug was relinquished at the arrival of youngsters. A toothy grin welled up his face actually shifting his distinct headress. The warrior of Thanagar put down his things to better conversate the boys.
"Well I sure hope there's no other?" He played into the boys true naivete. An innocence long lost the man. So many past lives. Or worlds he had to realize he simultaneously has, lived. Taxed the simple things like memories and nostalgia.
"Now I sure hope you've cone to Midway City Museum for the amazing DINO exhibit, rather than a squeeky old bird like me?" Carter knelt down beside Eagle some. With enjoyment in his blue eyes. He placed his hand on the boys back as he looked at the creativity Eagle managed. Shaking his head in admirstion.
"Now THOSE Are some pretty sharp wings there's kid!" He complimented.

Eagle smiled excitedly. "Thank you! I made them, but I can't fly... not like you sir." He said, shyly.
The mini batman rolled his eyes and walked next to the two. "Don't distract him! He's trying to work." Now in better light, it was clear that the two boys' clothes were badly damaged and old.
Before the obvious leader could talk to Hawkman, a third boy ran in. Tall and lanky, a boy dressed in red pants and a flash shirt joined the group. His clothes were a size or so too small, and was just as tattered ad the others."what did I miss?"

Observation had been a great endowment Hawkman exhibited. A cross look surfaced his face, at the realization that these kids may have been poor and without. Bit he didn't pity them. They expressed an eager and purposed pride. Such a driving force would be a quality aspect to growing young men.
"So, I'm surrounded by some of the world's finest Superheroes. Can I maybe have YOUR autograph?" He winked at the Batman inspired boy, through the articulate bird headed mask.
Leaning to him: " Have you boys eaten yet? The cafeteria has everything from asparagus to pizza. But. Something tells me that you boys would sway towards the pizza?" * scratches his chin in mock pondering.

Within the Mayan settlement gallery. Atop a paper mache ornamented building. A prop sun illuminated greatly. As per the effect intended. The exhibit still closed to the public, saw few to no people daily. Aperfect hiding place for the sentient shadow mass, residing in the darkest places. A wispy talon of smokey ichor bubbled black and silent up the wall. But within a silohuette shadow. As though the trap lights illuminatory barrier caged its movement? Effortlessly the traveling talon trail lashed out at the false sun prop. Destroying it with unearthly impact. Dizzying darkness befell the beautiful gallery. Only a room away from where Carter snd kids chatted.

Eagle's eyes lit up after the mention of pizza. It had been a long time, like forever since they had real, hot pizza. He looked at the mini Batman with an almost pleading look. "Kai... can we go get some?!"
Kai shook his head. "No. We came here on a mission. And your stomach isn't more important then that." He wan Ted the pizza too, but as the leader, wanted to appear strong.
Mini Flash's stomach grumbled at the mention of food. "Awe.... come on Kai... One slice wouldn't slow us down."
"Flare, knock it off and see where Marvel Lass and Super Dork are." Kai said, a snub in his voice when he mentioned Super Dork.
"I thought Marvel Lass was Black Bird now..." Flare daid, scratching his head. But when Kai shot him a hot glare, he ran off to see what was holing up the other two in their group.
Kai turned towards Hawkman. "So, what happened here? We are here to help with your investigation."

Impaling Ice has taken the scarab and the scroll and slip it in a pouch. As he slipped in the delivery area earlier. He went through the African artifacts that was there but it was useless. When he searched the Egyptian he found a old scarab and it had a scroll too inside. He wasn't sure what it meant but he knew it could be something of value.
He was trying to stay quiet when he noticed a bald man with a mustache, wasn't sure who he was but tried to ignore him. he was leaving when he spotted two mummies with the same scarab attach to them He stopped and look, he starts to stare. He was starting to wonder if it's worth taken the scarab and scroll or not? Seeing the mummies could mean a bad omen.
While Impaling Ice was breaking into the museum hoping for a nice payday, what he doesn't know, Hawkman is there already with another individual name Eagle. Impaling Ice was on his way to pick up some supplies for the pub he works for but decide to do job on the way. He almost forgot about the other gentlemen was he was still staring at the mummies.

The crowd of people gathered around the museum. The exhibits were open, even with the crime. At least part of it was. A young sat outside on a bench and were staring at the clouds, when they saw a young woman in all white and blue land. She had a red cape that was pulled to the side and one shoulder pad, made of metal. She was Power Girl.
Kara landed at the entrance and a few people whistled while others just stared. "Where is he at? Where is Ca-...er... Hawkman." She looked like she was worried about something, as she opened the door and walked in. More people looked over the statuesque blonde as she made her way in.
"Hawkman! Where are you at? I am here to help, and since this is a JSA matter, I am offering my help or that of the Tribunals, if needed." She spotted him and Eagle as they were grumbling about pizza and she shook her head. "Always bout your food, huh, Hawk? World is on fire around you and you will still find the last burger station. Kind of like when we in that space station over Thanagar and you were hungry and so was I and.... anyways. I am here to help." She smiled. "What do we know?"

Beside the trio of children, Hawkman stood and spoke to them. All the while going through things only believed to be trifled at this point.*(( However, the display at which Impaling Ice interacted had in fact only moments before been dabbled in and not noticed. Yet.)) The various cultures housed within this section of the gallery held clues few and far between. But a sooty blackish tar sat upon the damaged pedestal before Hawks group.
'' Well kids. It appears we are missing jewelery from the ancient Sudanese. As well as ...and the most peculiar. ..the" Hawk began to explain. Playing along with the kids 'investigation' interest. (Using true facts however))
"Hey kids, look...its PowerGirl!" He said, then looked towards her in surprise.
"Word travels fast it seems? These are my official "deputy detectives". Seems Midwsy City Museum had a break in? Sevurity compromised. Artifacts mostly stolen. One of which was of the Gotham based Indian tribe....the Magiani. A totem to Bath'ahiatii. "The winged one" Though mist likely a reference of sone mythos surrounding Gothams ever present Bat population?"

The 'bald'man slunk to the gallery rafters within the darkest region. A suit of black from head to toe he donned. (As though applied like shrink wrapped spandex. Or scuba diving suit.) Revealing only a circular portion of his face and mustache. The hideous grin worn, seemed horribly vacant. As the Shadow Thief sought retribution, rather than loot or relics. Released by unknown handlers, from a magically bound relic that broke in museums gallery.. While the totem of Bath'ahiatii was stolen by the true thieves.
Meanwhile the Scarab seemed to warm beneath Impalings hands? Curiously eerie it seemed. Luckily Ice had been unnoticed. However, the room adjacent clamored. Unlike just moments prior, a new person joined. And so by a media friendly familiar female voice, where Hawk and the children were.

Eagle hid behind Hawkman's legs, not liking Powergirl. He peered towards her around his legs.
Kai crossed his arms and looked suspiciously at her. In his 10 year old voice, he spoke with a strong tone. "We were here first. Feel free to fly away home to Metropolis. Hawkman has all the help he needs."
A little girl with light brown hair walked onto the seen in black clothes and a dark purple cape, like Raven commonly donned. "Don't worry. Blackbird is here now. We will solve this crime. " she said. She was a little bit younger then Kai, but stood almost as tall. Her clothes were a bit cleaner and more put together, but still seemed like it hadn't been washed in quite some time.
The three scamps were joined again by Flare and we're ready to continue their mission. Flare ogled Power girl's attire but was elbowed by Black Bird.
"Stop, theif!" Shouted a young voice at Impaling Ice. Standing on a display case was a boy with striking features, black hair and blue eyes. He wore a full superman outfit, the one kids wear for Halloween. With his hands on his hips, in a heroic stance, the 10 year old known by Kai as Super Dork smiled at the man holding the artifact. "Now I caught you! Single handedly, I might add. Drop your stolen goods. Or you will deal with me! Superb Kid!"
