Physical Disability/Illnesses: Non-existent.

Personality: Enneagram Type Eight -> The Challenger. Eights are self-confident, strong, and assertive. Protective, resourceful, straight-talking, and decisive, but can also be ego-centric and domineering. Eights feel they must control their environment, especially people, sometimes becoming confrontational and intimidating. Eights typically have problems with their tempers and with allowing themselves to be vulnerable.

Likes: Competition, ambition and proper management.

Dislikes: Laziness, indignant people and overly obsequious personalities.

Skills: Adept in martial arts, though has not fully mastered the craft. Expert with machines and puzzles, due to background of a mechanic.

Powers (RP): Able to manipulate fire. The fire itself is very powerful once she reaches full ignition.

Weakness(es): Cannot manifest fire without the use of her suit. She is defenseless of her power if no fire sources are nearby without the help of the suit. Uses fuel to power to suit, so if by chance you have a foam distinguisher, she loses her fire if not fully activated. Entirely human, weakened against illnesses, heavy blows/injuries. Her suit is designed to react to the woman's heart rate in order to provide a source of fire. Once a certain temperature is reached, it will begin to power down in order to not completely destroy her surroundings. (Lots of weaknesses, considering her power can be very devastating.)

Paraphernalia (Equipment, Weapons, etc.): Hand to hand combat, no weapons are carried on her person. Only equipment is her suit. The suit itself is sustainable to extreme amounts of heat and a good defense against sharp blades.

1. Why are you interested in becoming a part of The Hoods, and what do you feel The Hoods stand for?

Unity. You often see villains trying to stand alone against the plethora of heroes attempting to prove how 'awesome' they are. This happens in almost every game. Being able to join a group dedicated to end the horrible stereotype feels like a good start.

2. How will you personally contribute to the betterment of our organization?

Working together will only improve the efficiency and quality of any RP accomplished. In return, I want to contribute to that efficient system and put use my skills and committed towards the organization.

Character Questionnaire

The following questions will give us a better understanding of how you view your character and help us to determine if he/she will be a good addition to our team.


1. In your opinion, what makes your character Original and Iconic, what makes them stand out amongst his/her fellow villains?

I designed Ember to have equal weaknesses and powers. Yes, fire has always been a favorite for many Mary-Sue figurines and I decided to flip things around and make it less than what it really is. Having all that power with the flame, she has those power disabilities that can render her entirely useless! But, after all. When a character has multiple weaknesses, she has to have something to counteract. Thus, Ember is smart. She knows when to lose and when to win. Losing isn't a big deal for her, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?

2. How dedicated are you to this character and his/her concept? Will he/she be your main character?

Whenever I make a character, I will sit at my laptop for a good thirty minutes taking the Mary-Sue litmus test and providing my character with an eligible background. As a writer, good characters are vital. That being said, in your requirements for joining you actually mentioned being able to take criticism. As a writer, I FEED off criticism. It makes me better at what I love to do!

3. Why did your character decide to become a villain?

Son of a.. I've been waiting for this question. GAH. Definitely a hard one to answer. I'd say that Ember doesn't have anything else left. Something about her snapped and suddenly she wanted to do what was best for -her-. Nothing else mattered. The realization of her power manipulation only fueled her mental fire. Becoming a villain felt like second nature.

Character Bio

In 1000 words or less, please provide a concise bio about your character. This bio should include the origin of your character detailing how he acquired his/her abilities, his/her rise to fame in the villain community, and if applicable his/her introduction to The Hoods.

1000 WORDS? Oh god. A challenge! Hopefully I can squeeze things down to reach that limit. One thing I will mention, is that Ember is only just starting at her rise to renown among villains. As this provides more opportunity for her develop as a more interesting and versatile character.

The daughter of a modest family, Aurelia grew up aspiring to pursue the single passion she truly enjoyed. Cars. Not the fancy type with gleaming silver paint and sleek designs. No, she preferred the rustic beauties, diamonds in the rough. College was paid for after long hours of waitressing at a small café and soon she was happily employed at the loyal fix-up garage.

It wasn't a gloomy day when Aurelia nearly died. On the contrary, it was the perfect view to watch Superman face down his newest opponent! Considering all the damage these heroes cause, fixing up a thrown car was why their business was booming. She was working on the street fixing a leaking engine. An explosion rocked above her and she turned only to have the full force of the sun collide with her vision. An object collided with the car and it ignited with such force that Aurelia could only hold her hands up as she saw nothing but white. No warmth. Only sound. The symphony of a typhoon swirling around her form.

She looked up and the flames had obediently claimed her palms. Swirling around her body like a coiling snake. The sun no longer felt hot on her back.

For the following weeks, she would practice her powers, hoping to create fire over her body as she had seen so clearly. Nothing. Not even a flicker of flame as she felt sweat drain down her jawline. Only then did she realize that she could not conjure the fire itself. Fire had to be provided, given to her by some other means.

When she was young, her mother warned her never to play with fire. This definitely wasn't what she expected 'playing' would refer to.

Roleplaying Essay

As The Hoods are primarily a Roleplay-centric group, we would like to ensure that anyone who may eventually join the League are capable of some form of RPing. In 500 words or less, please use the following scenario to write a short paragraph or two. This section should feature your character in the role of a villain. Please write in third-person only.

At the heart of Gotham's East End, Weather Wiccan hovers triumphantly at the center of a freak storm of her creation, as your fellow villains lay unconscious at her feet. You are the only still-standing member of your crew. Your misbegotten loot is nearby, but a crowd has gathered cautiously in the streets, both terrified and excited by the melee. Without a second thought you spring into action.

"Out of all people, it had to be the weather freak?" she growled, her body recoiling against the terrain. Staying low seemed the obvious choice, considering she watched one of her comrades be flung uselessly through the air like a ragdoll.

At the heart of the storm, the Weather Wiccan conjured her strange magic and cackled maniacally at the sole remainder of her attacks.

A stray mailbox flew headlong into Ember's face and she found herself sprawling backwards onto the pavement. She swore violently at the pain that racked over her muscles, yet she forced her mind to shake it off.

The direct hit caught the response of an amused laugh from the witch as she aimed more debris towards the struggling figure.

"Easy prey to the will of the storm!"

Ember smiled as her heart pounded. Anger at the taunt eased the pain and provided a surge of adrenaline through her working veins. The overwhelming smell of gasoline became potent in the air as her form ignited in a ball of fire. The sprays of water did nothing against the fuel, as the weight of the water sat below the lighter liquid. The flames only grew with the Wiccan's continued hollering.

Startled civilians fumbled backwards against the mere heat of the fire and shrieked as they felt themselves be nearly lifted from their unstable legs.

She needed to end this. Now.

Her arms surged forward in a unanimous motion, the flames following the motion in one pulsing wave. The wind couldn't even buckle the force behind the fire and the Wiccan screamed in agony as she felt the searing scorch of the fire disrupt her concentration. The winds relaxed into their natural status and the Wiccan fell from her hovered perch.

The fact that you know the term Mary-Sue and that there is a test out there to rate your character in regards to being one gives me a -HUGE- boost in confidence in having you be a member. Look forward to seeing you in-game soon!

Edit: Just in case it seemed like I was implying I wasn't confident before, that's totally not the case. I just meant that it's very reassuring in general that you understand such concepts, etc.
