Gravitic Girl's Application/Bio

(If I'm going to ask everyone else to do it, I should probably fill one out as well.)

Image

19
Place of Birth:
Bridgeport, Connecticut
Height:
5'8"
Weight:
115 lbs.
Hair Color:
Brown
Eye Color:
Green
Physical Build:
Very fit and toned, curvy and cute. Her costumes frequently draw attention to her bust and rear, which whether due to her age, luck, or control of gravity, remain perky and full.

Personality:
Spoiled and entitled, Gravitic Girl is frequently condescending to those she views as inferiors. (Which is most everybody.) To those she respects and cares for, however, she can be quite generous and personable.
Likes:
Diamonds, fashion, luxury
Dislikes:
The Titans, particularly Red Arrow/Arsenal.
Skills:
As Berenice, she is a relatively well-known model, appearing frequently on high-fashion posters in Metropolis' ritzy Glenmorgan Square. Attends Metropolis University part-time, studying physics and geology.
Powers (RP):
Gravitic control and manipulation. She is able to change and alter the natural gravitational fields of people and objects, create "gravity wells" of persistent altered gravity in an area, as well as utilize it to create blasts of force. Recently, she has discovered the ability to alter the effective weight of her blows, seemingly providing her with super-strength in hand-to-hand combat.
Weakness(es):
Susceptible to normal human frailties, barring the use of her powers.
Paraphernalia (Equipment, Weapons, etc.):
A variety of costumes, all of them fashionable. Her mask contains a built-in comm unit to keep in touch with leaguemates and monitor police and military frequencies. Also has a technical display on her gauntlets that allow for limited computer use and communications.

Game & Contact Information:

In-Game Powersets (Power/Weapon/Travel, etc.):
Mental(Telekinesis)/Hand Blast/Flight
Preferred Role (Healer, Tank, Controller, DPS):
Controller
Resident Time Zone:
Eastern

Character Questionnaire
The following questions will give us a better understanding of how you view your character and help us to determine if he/she will be a good addition to our team.

1. In your opinion, what makes your character Original and Iconic, what makes them stand out amongst his/her fellow villains?
Gravitic Girl is in the unusual position of doing villainous acts just for her own amusement. She's rich, beautiful and smart. She does evil things out of amusement and to spite certain groups (see #3).

2. How dedicated are you to this character and his/her concept? Will he/she be your main character?
Very much so. Gravitic Girl has been my main for over a year.

3. Why did your character decide to become a villain?
It wasn't so much a conscious choice... she meant to do good. She began her superpowered career as an initiate of a group of teen heroes, but after becoming overly aggressive on a mission, she was kicked out of the group, something she holds a grudge about to this very day. After her expulsion from the heroic community, she found it was far more enjoyable to use her powers for her own entertainment and benefit, whether that's judged as "good" or "evil" by others is not her concern.

Character Bio
In 1000 words or less, please provide a concise bio about your character. This bio should include the origin of your character detailing how he acquired his/her abilities, his/her rise to fame in the villain community, and if applicable his/her introduction to The Hoods.

Note: Origins should contain little to no reference to any particular Superhero MMORPG established fiction (though exobyte-granted powers are obviously an exception). We are looking for 'your' ultimate version of your villain, not one that is tied directly to any existing game or comic-brand lore.

Berenice Hollingsworth was on a school excursion to the site of a new geological discovery, when some of her classmates' goofing around inadvertently triggered a cave-in. In the rush to escape, Berenice was knocked into the newly-discovered crystal formations, which had been dubbed "Newtonite." She was buried alive.

Crushed under hundreds of tons of rocks, Berenice found much to her surprise, that she was somehow still alive, the Newtonite giving off a faint pulsing glow in the darkness. As she pushed against them, the crystals crumbled to shimmering dust beneath her, and the rocks above shifted, pinning her painfully. She gasped for breath, choking in lungfuls of the dust. Coughing, buried in the dark, about to be crushed to death, Berenice made one final, screaming push against the weight. Miraculously, the rocks above her moved upward at her urging, as though completely weightless. She made her way to the surface, where she was able to rejoin her class, who were still recovering from the shock of the cave-in, and hadn't yet noticed her previous absence.

Once the class had returned home, Berenice began wondering about the circumstances of her escape. She knew there were people with superpowers, but she hadn't seen one there that day. (And those guys tend to stand out, let's be honest.) She began to suspect that perhaps she had somehow gained powers, but despite much hand-waving, seemed unable to make anything happen.

A few days later, arriving late to school, Berenice spotted the car of her recently-ex boyfriend. Deciding to take a bit of retribution for the embarassment he'd caused her, she decided to kick in the grill. When she did, the car launched backwards, crashing into a light pole, which buckled and fell down on top of the vehicle. In shock, she hurried to class, trying her best to contain her excitement at her newfound powers.

Roleplaying Essay
As The Hoods are primarily a Roleplay-centric group, we would like to ensure that anyone who may eventually join the League are capable of some form of RPing. In 500 words or less, please use the following scenario to write a short paragraph or two. This section should feature your character in the role of a villain. Please write in third-person only.

At the heart of Gotham's East End, Weather Wiccan hovers triumphantly at the center of a freak storm of her creation, as your fellow villains lay unconscious at her feet. You are the only still-standing member of your crew. Your misbegotten loot is nearby, but a crowd has gathered cautiously in the streets, both terrified and excited by the melee. Without a second thought you spring into action. (Please continue the story from this moment on.)

The wind whipping her hair in front of her face, Gravitic Girl grits her teeth as she stands before the meteorological menace. Gusts howl through the streets, circling around the hero as she floats, unfazed by her own powers, towards Gravitic Girl. Spectators shield their eyes and hold onto one another as Gotham's street debris buffets the surrounding area. Gravitic Girl raises her own arm just in time to stop a newspaper page from slapping against her face.

She looks at the page, then at Weather Wiccan. "You're really making a mess of things!" she shouts over the roaring winds.

"My winds cleanse the streets of filth! Clearing away that which would pollute the city!" the witch retorts, her metaphor obvious and predictable.

"You only seem to manage the small stuff," Gravitic Girl taunts, shaking the newsprint free of her arm.

"I felled your accomplices!" Weather Wiccan retorted, gesturing towards the unconscious neer-do-wells.

"That's what I said!" Gravitic Girl laughed as the witch drew closer. "You really think you can handle something more substantial than street filth?"

"You are in no position to make challenges!"

"On the contrary!" she said, as the heroine finally drew close enough. The gusts were blowing directly at Gravitic Girl now. Which meant that Weather Wiccan was directly between Gravitic Girl and the now-airborne semi truck that Grav had made weightless. At the last moment, Gravitic Girl dove to the ground as the truck slammed into Weather Wiccan.

Within a few seconds, the winds faded, and Gravitic Girl rose once more to her feet. She hoisted the dufflebag that held her crew's haul onto her shoulder. "Come on, you guys," she said as she stepped over the hired thugs. "If you're not back at the rendezvous in 15 minutes, you lose your cut."
