Main Appearance: Aaron is a non-assuming blonde haired male in average physical condition who chooses to wear casual street attire when not in EMT Uniform. To look upon him he would seem unremarkable save for the jade-green scarab attached to his spine. The scarab is usually discreetly hidden beneath most shirts and jackets but is otherwise uncloaked or disguised.

Alternative Appearances: When Aaron either calls upon the inner abilities of the scarab or if a dangerous event causes the scarab to activate in order to preserve its host, a body-covering armored carapace forms over Aaron and whatever he is wearing at that moment. The exo-skeletal carapace is jade-green and black in color and provides Aaron a number of abilities as well as increased, meta-level protection.

Depending on Jade Beetle's needs, the carapace can reform its arms to form twin cannons (for range attacks) or sharpened, serrated edged weapons intended for tearing metal to rescue the wounded (but can be used for close quarters combat).

For flight, two pairs of wings are stored in elytra on Jade Beetle's back. The wings can be used for flight and/or generate bio-electric energy that can be used for resuscitation, stimulating the bio-rhythmic energy of injured or to attack enemies.

Character and Personality
Character Background: Shaw is a motivated, self-disciplined young adult who was unwittingly bonded with an alien symbiote, known as a Scarab. Shaw was thrust into action and forced to choose sides during the alien Xree attack on Earth, becoming an ally of the Justice Society of America. Though damaged, the symbiote was able to communicate with its host enough to identify its origins, purpose and explain its primary functions and capabilities. Shaw was able -barely- to employ the symbiote's talents during the Xree attack; earning some admiration from the JSA and "a place at the table" for future development and missions. Upon the formation of the Justice Tribunals, Shaw stated his case for joining the new organization and was accepeted into their ranks from Day One.

The Reach Medic Array provides an outer exoskeletal carapace that provides wings for flight in space and planetary atmospheric conditions. The beating of these wings also provide a form of power generation that allows the Array to generate bio-electric energy blasts while in flight.
Carapace: Protection The exo-skeletal carapace also provides the host armored protection from most melee and energy based attacks. The carapace is not nigh-invulnerable nor is it indestructible and all forms of damage will accumulate and can eventually render the carapace inert. This variation of scarab is not meant for independent actions like the Infiltrator scarab and normally relies on other heavier combat scarabs to cover its movement and healing of injured.

Reach Combat Medic Scarab ( Designated: Uisa Set):
Uisa Set: Medical Array provides Enhanced Senses to track, identidy and triage subjects or targets within an extended field of range. The array was designed to locate and treat injured Reach members in the field and therefore is equipped with an extra sensory loadout that allows it to Counters Illusion, Counters Concealment (Invisibility), Danger Sense, Darkvision, Radio, Radius (Normal Sight), Tracking), and then assess those targets as hostile/allied/injured/etc. This sensory loadout allows the Array to track those targets across great distances once identified and logged.

Energy Pattern Disruption: Effect Nullify (Energy Effects) The array can nullify incoming attacks but only for a short extent as the array was not made for combat but to endure great damage long enough to provide healing and then retreat to the next 'patient.' The Combat Medic scarab wearers are meant to be fast-movers and are not built to ensure tremendous amounts of damage but to sustain damage while applying healing.

Sealed Systems: Immunity (Life Support) The carapace provides the host life support not only in space but also under water, in gaseous atmospheres and other critical and otherwise lethal atmospheric conditions.

Reach Weaponry:
Energy Cannon: Ranged Damage The carapace reforms the wearers arms and hands into a cannon like weapon that fires energy based projectiles. Not as powerful as a 'Blue Beetle' cannon, the blasts are intended to clear paths to injured and temporarily neutralize or stun hostiles in its way. The neutrailizing or stun effect normally only lasts for a few minutes against energy susceptible targerts and the rounds can penetrate flesh and some terrestrial armors.
Arm Blades: Strength-based Damage Lifewise the carapace can reform the host's exo-skeletal limbs into blades that can penetrate most metals, akin to alien 'jaws of life' to get to its targeted injured.
