Captain Aluminum

Hero Name: Captain Aluminum
Alternate Identity: Timothy Foyle
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Base of Operations: Metropolis
Catch Phrase: You’re About to be Foiled! You've been foiled!

Known Powers –

Metallic Body Armor: Provides good protection against bludgeoning, piercing, slashing, ballistic and energy attacks. The armor can stop a .50 caliber bullet but nothing larger.

Metallic Shield: His shield provides the same protection as the metallic body armor, only when used it provides an additional layer of protection. Captain Aluminum can throw the shield at opponents or bludgeon them with it.

Electrical Generation and Manipulation: The Captain can use electricity in a number of ways. He has not yet discovered the extent of his power with electricity but the stunts he has figured out already are listed below.

Electrical Blast: The Captain can shoot bolts of electricity from himself at any given target within one hundred feet. The blasts are pure electrical energy. Targets who are not properly grounded may take additional damage. The blasts have high voltage but the amperage is low so the blasts are not devastating but could kill a normal human easily. The more powerful Metas could most likely shrug off these attacks. He has not yet learned how to increase his range or power with this attack.

Static Shielding: The Captain can raise a static electrical barrier over himself that makes his metallic armor more effective at protecting him.

Metallic Shield Control: The Captain can use his electrical manipulation to control his shield when it is thrown. He can also use it to call his shield back to him after it is thrown.

Lightning Speed: Through his ability to manipulate electrical currents in his own body, the Captain has discovered that he can overload the electrical currents running to his leg muscles allowing him to run extremely fast. He theorizes that he is able to reach speeds in excess of the sound barrier if he tried though he has so far been reluctant to do so.

History –

Timothy Foyle was born to an upper middle class family who lived in the suburbs of Metropolis. Timothy was always something of a nerd and spent most of his time locked away in his room reading and watching clips of his favorite Superheroes online and in the news. He was an only child and his habits concerned his parents but even going to therapy did not seem to help.

More than anything, Timothy wanted to be a superhero but he was unsure how to go about becoming one. That was until he came across a certain book on Ebay. The book was appropriately titled: How to Become a Superhero and within its pages it guaranteed to give away the secrets to becoming a superhero. Timothy ordered it immediately. The next few days waiting for it to arrive were the longest days of his life. When it did finally arrive, Timothy was beside himself and began reading right away.

The book talked about origins in depth. It came as something of a surprise to the boy that there were so many different ways to become a superhero. Some of the origin concepts were feasible while others were simply out of his reach. These he dismissed right away: Alien from Another Planet or Dimension; Artificial Lifeform and Mutant. There was no way for Timothy to become one of these types of superheroes so he moved on.

First he looked into becoming a High Tech hero. High tech heroes use gadgets, power suits and other high tech means to gain super powers. Timothy was smart but no genius by far. Still he was determined and he spent months designing a power armor suit and collecting his allowance money to buy the parts he needed. All was going well and his suit was starting to look really cool, but he was lacking the power system and the hydraulics. He had stripped apart his laptop computer to use as the mainframe of the suit. He found parts and the hydraulics at the local junkyard and all he was lacking was the power source. One day while using a car battery as a power test for the systems the suit fell on him and broke his arm. His parents found him in the shed when they got home from work an hour or so later. He was crying and calling for help. His mother rushed him to the emergency room where his arm would be placed in a cast. Meanwhile at home his father had a scrap company come and take the suit away. Timothy also lost his allowance for a year.

Still determined to become a superhero, he read further on in the book. The next chapter was called: The Altered Human. The chapter explained that any normal human could gain super powers through extraordinary means. Some events could cause a human to gain powers by infusing their DNA with radioactivity or a virus. The book explained that the event would have to be seriously extreme and an ordinary event would not work. Timothy took this to heart and began planning.

Once his arm had healed and the cast was removed he was ready. He waiting for an extreme lightning storm to come to his suburb and he would use the lightning as the catalyst for his super powers. After wrapping his entire body in aluminum foil he wrapped a piece of rounded cardboard in it as well as a shield and slung it on his back. Timothy headed out into the storm. He remembered reading about the Ben Franklin Kite and Key experiment and Timothy would repeat the experiment. The wind was high and the lightning was serious, Timothy flew his kite. He got drenched in the rain and though the lightning was all around him, his kite was never struck. Finally, the storm passed and Timothy headed home defeated.

When he got home he dragged in small puddles of rainwater into the kitchen. He was discouraged, wet and hungry. He decided to make some toast and just to add insult to injury, the toast got stuck in the toaster and it wouldn’t pop up. Timothy took the knife he had for his jelly and tried to jiggle the pieces free. In the process he was electrocuted severely as he wore the tinfoil uniform and the puddles of water underneath him on the floor. The kitchen sparked and flashed brightly as the current ran through his body. The tinfoil fused to his body and to the cardboard shield. In the process it hardened into armor. By the time the circuit breaker popped, electrical power was surging through his body.

Timothy awoke on the floor of the kitchen a few hours later. His dream had come true, he was an altered human hero and he planned on using his newfound powers for good. After scribbling a note to his parents the new hero, calling himself Captain Aluminum, headed to the big city to fight crime and hopefully meet the superheroes he had for so long admired.
