Played around with different layouts of the same colour scheme for a while before I settled on that look. I think it makes him look pretty ostentatious, which fits for a guy who's so obsessed with money. Still haven't RPed as Racer at all, but once I'm done with the history edits I'll be looking to get stuck in and tell some fun stories.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Plonker2236)Wed, 12 Oct 2016 10:55:31 +0000 Re: Getaway Racer [WIP]https://bdcuoroleplayershaven.runboard.com/p24988,from=rss#post24988https://bdcuoroleplayershaven.runboard.com/p24988,from=rss#post24988Alright I'm going to be honest with you, love what you did with the combination of chest style and chest icon....nondisclosed_email@example.com (8balls)Tue, 11 Oct 2016 22:12:30 +0000 Getaway Racer [WIP]https://bdcuoroleplayershaven.runboard.com/p24905,from=rss#post24905https://bdcuoroleplayershaven.runboard.com/p24905,from=rss#post24905Preferred User Nickname: Racer Villain Name: Getaway Racer Real Name: Mason Keyes Age: 28 Gender: Male Physical Description: In civilian life, Mason Keyes is a wiry man with pale skin and brown hair. As Getaway Racer, very little of his true appearance is visible beneath his anti-friction Speedster suit. With his cowl on, his naturally grey eyes are subsumed in the red glare of the energy flowing through him. His suit is primarily black, with purple stylized lightning bolts decorating his upper body and legs. In a few places, hints of gold can also be seen, most notably coating the twin thunderbolts on his chest. Weapon of Choice: Bare hands, throwing stars Powers: As a Speed Force user, Getaway Racer theoretically has access to all the same powers as other Speedsters like the Reverse Flash. In practice, he has only demonstrated enhanced speed, and a dangerous knack for manipulating the lightning he generates when accessing the Speed Force. Movement Type: Super Speed History: Mason Keyes grew up on the streets of Blüdhaven, well before the rise of Batman and his succession of crime-fighting partners. Raised by a single mother, Mason was often left alone while she worked multiple jobs to pay the bills. In a place as saturated with corruption as Blüdhaven, it is not surprising that he fell in with a bad crowd. Mason was scrawny and quick, with a keen knowledge of the streets. He knew every road, every back alley, every rooftop access point for dozens of city blocks around his home. These skills made him well-suited to a life of petty theft. And so he grew up as a snatch-and-grab artist, using his speed and navigational abilities to outfox any pursuers. Mason earned a tidy income through various fences to whom he sold the goods he stole. As he grew older, Mason began to understand the allure of much bigger prizes than candy and new toys. He craved after expensive clothes, cars and high-living which he'd seen many of his friends achieve through joining up with various crime families that infested Gotham and the surrounding areas. But Mason chose a different path - as a freelance getaway driver. His knowledge of the streets had only grown over the years, and he soon found himself in demand for various high-profile heists. This criminal career carried Mason through his adult life; paid for his mother to retire comfortably in the countryside, and netted him a lifestyle his boyhood self could only dream of. He was riding high, making money with gangs and freelance criminals all across New Jersey. With the rise of Batman, and the proliferation of his various sidekicks and allies, the state of New Jersey became an increasingly dangerous place to conduct criminal activities. Not only had a new wave of vigilantes begun to crack down on crime, but many of the old gangs and crime families were being taken over or dismantled by new bosses like Two Face and The Joker. Mason was not about to give up his lifestyle however, and began pushing himself harder. He did more jobs with bigger payoffs, becoming part of a major string of high-profile robberies. It was in the midst of this crime spree that Mason ran afoul of a vigilante called Nightwing. A night-time raid on a jewellery store went sour when one of Mason's crew got trigger-happy and shot up a patrol car. As ever, Mason was in the driver's seat and made what seemed to be a clean getaway. But their relief turned to dread when the sound of burst tires sent them spinning out of control. The crash knocked Mason unconscious; and when he came to he was handcuffed to a hospital bed. Nightwing had set a trap for the crew, and Mason was in fact lucky to be out cold during the following minutes. Batman's former sidekick brutally dealt with the still-conscious members of the group before leaving them in the hands of Blüdhaven's boys in blue. Mason did time in Blackgate Prison, sharing his cell with Donny Hong - a former member of the Ghost Dragons gang. Mason formed close ties with Hong, the two looked out for each other amidst the violence and chaos. Mason learned from his new friend various martial arts skills, which came in handy when somebody 'looked at them funny' in the yard. Eventually Hong was released from Blackgate. Without his former partner, Mason's life began to take a turn for the worse. His mother had fallen ill with cancer, and he was being pressured to join one of the prison gangs. Constantly watching his back, and terrified he would lose his mother before he could get out of Blackgate and see her; Mason was at the end of his tether. Desperate and with nowhere to run, the dispersal of the exobytes through Earth's atmosphere may very well have saved Mason's life. Stricken and infected with superhuman genetics, Mason fell into a coma. He spent the next two years non-responsive on a hospital bed. During that time, his mother passed away and life in the outside world moved on without him. When he awoke, Mason found himself stronger than he should have been after so long spent immobile. Released back into the general prison population, he quickly discovered he now possessed superhuman speed akin to masked vigilantes like The Flash. But this was small comfort for the man who had lost everything - his mother dead and all his assets seized by the government. He resolved to hide his abilities and keep his head down for the remaining months of his sentence. It was time to start anew. But when Mason found himself on the other side of Blackgate's walls, he quickly came to realise that he could never make a 'normal' life for himself. His criminal record and lack of legitimate employment history made it almost impossible for him to find work on the straight-and-narrow. That, combined with his new superhuman speed, meant Mason was very soon seeking out old contacts in the underworld. He hired himself out as a solo thief - pulling off heists an entire crew of normal humans couldn't hope to achieve. Growing in notoriety, he earned the nickname "Getaway Racer" from the tabloids - a name he fully embraced as he began building himself his own supervillain identity. Mason Keyes is looking for riches, and Getaway Racer is his golden ticket.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Plonker2236)Fri, 07 Oct 2016 18:12:37 +0000
