Legend of the Quantum Crystals

Once upon a time, there was a kingdom known as Nexusartal. It was a peaceful kingdom ruled by a generous King and Queen and populated by beings known as Xiophans. For centuries, Nexusartal thrived with peace and prosperity... But as some would say, all good things must come to an end.

One tragic day, the King and Queen were found slaughtered in their bedroom, their bodies found in a horribly mutilated position. They left behind a son, Prince Dimetriox, who became the new king of Nexusartal. Dimetriox, unlike his mother and father, was pure evil, and used dark magic to get what he wanted, regardless of who or what got hurt in the process, whether it being killing someone to gain immortality, or create bad luck for a family just so he could not be killed by an average man. He was unkind, and took pleasure in the misfortunes of others. He corrupted the minds of his guards and his army, and set out on a conquest of the cosmos. For several centuries, Dimetriox's armies devastated the universe, slaughtering everyone that got in their way. Eventually, the entire universe was under his control.

However, this was not enough for King Dimetriox, as the peace made him grow bored. He lusted for chaos, for violence, for what his own twisted mind called "fun." He then began toying with his magic for centuries until learning of a way to open portals to other universes. This knowledge pleased Dimetriox greatly, and he used it to begin the conquest of other universes. The magical knowledge Dimetriox gained turned him into a being almost at the power of a God, and everyone that stood in Dimetriox's way would be slaughtered. Those who survived would succumb to the corruption and obey Dimetriox's commands.

Dimetriox's road of conquest went over several different universes, and those that made the vow to protect it knew that he had to be stopped. These beings were known as the Twelve Caesers. However, this would not be an easy task, as Dimetriox's power made him virtually indestructible, a God amongst men. They decided that the only way to stop Dimetriox was to imprison him, as conventional means of killing him were impossible. And thus, the twelve Quantum Crystals were created.

The Quantum Crystals were crystals that contained the very fabric of the multiverse, containing immense power that most would find overwhelming. They would be used as keys to lock Dimetriox in the fabrics of time and space itself, preventing him from ever harming anyone ever again. The only catch was that one Quantum Crystal could not stand against Dimetriox's magic. All seven of the Quantum Crystals must be used to negate Dimetriox's power, and even then, it wouldn't kill him.

Those who made the vow to protect the properties of the multiverse nodded in agreement, as they knew that not all of them would survive the coming battle. They would eventually meet Dimetriox face-to-face on the battlefield, and prepare to do what they came here to do. They combined the powers of the twelve Quantum Crystals and faced Dimetriox's power with their own. Despite being weakened, Dimetriox was still a formidable opponent, and dispatched eleven of the Twelve Caesars, leaving only one left to defeat the monster.

The remaining Caesar would use all of their power and use the Quantum Crystals to imprison Dimetriox in the fabrics of space and time, and thus ending Dimetriox's conquest of the multiverse. Now the only things that could release him were the Quantum Crystals. However, the Quantum Crystals were indestructible, and could not be destroyed, so the remaining Caesar would have to hide them to prevent Dimetriox's followers from releasing their master again.

The Caesar took the twelve crystals, and scattered them across the multiverse, as to make sure that Dimetriox would never be released ever again. Rumors began popping up that a mystical amulet was able to grant whoever possessed it a portion of Dimetriox's magic, and thus control Dimetriox himself. But no one has ever seen this amulet, and thus dismiss its existence.

Years would pass, and the story would become that of a legend, and the Caesar that survived would eventually fade into legend as well. It is said though that today, Dimetriox still waits in his prison, waiting to be freed...

((OOC: This is basically a fairytale that will set up a possible future event, so I would love to hear thoughts and opinions on it! As for Dimetriox, yes, I know, he is very similar to Trigon. I'm not gonna try calling him "more powerful than Trigon" because people will probably get pissed off by it, but I'm also not gonna call him "weaker than Trigon" so we'll just say for now he's pretty much on Trigon's level of power. Hell, I'm thinking of having him listed as Trigon's little brother, but I'm not going to confirm that because again, people will probably end up getting pissed off over it, and I really don't feel like dealing with that. So for now, he isn't related.

As for the Twelve Caesars, I felt there wasn't enough backstory on why there was a Forum of the Twelve, so I decided to make one up. Yes, I did do research, and I don't see anything, but if someone knows differently, let me know and I'll change the story. Thanks!))
