Lady Suadela

Human Name: Prudence Meeker
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 190 lbs
Hair: Black
Eyes: Glowing purple
Powers: Mental, Hand Blasts
Travel: Flight

Abilities
Suadela possesses formidable mental powers, mostly based around persuasion. Given enough time she can make others fall so in love with her that they will do anything she asks. The more mentally and physically sound someone is, the better they can resist her control. Likewise, exhaustion of the mind and/or body makes it easier for her to influence them.

Even when not fully in control of someone, her influence still acts on the subconscious. So even heroes and heroines fighting to stop her find themselves pulling their punches a bit.

Her influence reaches even beyond humans, as animals and aliens are also affected by it. Even sufficiently advanced AI is not wholly immune. It seems that if something can have even rudimentary emotions, it can be influenced.

Suadela prefers not to resort to violence, but can fire telekinetic blasts with her hands if she is forced to fight. She also has a small amount of control over her appearance evidenced by the changes made to the human body she is merged with. If her human personality takes "center stage", her appearance will often shift back to its less... flamboyant proportions.

Personality
Suadela is actually a rather gentle, subdued villain. Her major crimes consisting mostly of robbery and 'kidnapping by mental manipulation'; along with the danger of her influence becoming so widespread she takes over the planet, of course.

She loves the heroes and heroines who try and stop her just as much as she seems to love everyone else. Suadela simply views any who resist her as misguided; still unable to accept the loving existence she offers.

Even her enthralled minions are treated as treasured friends. Though her influence makes them willing to die for her, Suadela will always have them surrender if it looks like they may be seriously injured. She would rather see them "rescued" and "deprogrammed" than dead.

It even serves as a test to see which of them have truly accepted her, as a few DO still seek her out, even after being freed of her power. Even when she manages to gain control over a hero, she will instruct them to never hurt anyone seriously in the course of protecting her. For if freed from her influence, she knows they would feel guilty for hurting citizens or other heroes, and would not wish even that upon them.

This seeming gentleness may also contribute to many heroes treating her with "kid gloves". Though that never stops them from opposing her. For Suadela believes her love is a gift; and she wants to share it with everyone.

History
Suadela actually started existence as a formless entity floating in space. Barely more than a semi-sentient mass of cosmic and mystical energy, she drifted aimlessly before eventually reaching Earth.

Drawn to the minds of the native humans, she settled in what turned out to be a temple to Suadela, the Roman goddess of love, persuasion, and seduction. Her half-formed mind thirsted for more; knowledge, emotion... anything it could get. On instinct, her energies reached out to those in and around the temple, influencing them to gather there and share stories and feelings.

The Romans under her influence believed her to be their goddess and, as her mind formed from the energy of those around her, she soon believed so too.

At first she was content to stay in her temple with her followers, but after Rome fell and the world began to change, she ventured further. As she saw more and more of the suffering in the world, she became determined to spread her love to the world and end the wars and petty fueds that killed so many.

Her influence began to spread through Europe until a determined group of warriors and magic users managed to lock her away inside a mystical amulet. For centuries that is where she remained. The amulet was passed down from generation to generation; it's importance eventually lost to time, becoming nothing more than an heirloom.

Prudence Meeker, a rather plain, unassuming bookstore owner, was the latest to take possession of the amulet. To her it was nothing more than a pretty curiosity that brought back memories of DnD sessions with her friends and the fantasy novels she loved so much.

And so it would have gone if not for Brainiacs's invasion. Prudence escaped infection by the exobytes, but an explosion sent a stray piece of shrapnel clean through her chest like a bullet. She would surely have been one of the tragic casualties that day if the shrapnel hadn't also shattered the amulet.

Suddenly free, but formless and confused, Suadela latched on to the first mind she could; the rapidly fading Prudence. Her sympathies went out to the human and so, slipping into her mind, Suadela offered her a deal.

The energies of her form could easily repair Prudence's body, but the two would have to merge to do so. The two beings would have to become one; Prudence becoming infused with the cosmic and mystical energy and Suadela gaining a physical body. Prudence, with death being the only other choice and feeling the waves of love Suadela naturally emitted, accepted the offer.

Now merged, the new Suadela once more seeks to spread her love to all she can.
