Canon: Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers)

Ok before I start with this, I will take this moment to point out something VERY important everyone needs to know about this character.

The history of Carol Danvers in the Marvel universe is a vastly large line of ups and downs. No I will not go through and tell about the time she blocked Hulks fists from hitting her with her sheer alien DNA enhanced strength. That is not what I am focusing on with this character PERIOD.

Her story stops, for me the player, after she surrendered the mantle of Captain Marvel and left Earth to get her head back into perspective. Instead of going back to do the whole Marvel Civil War story arc she left the "Marvel Universe", which is also known in the DC comics universe as either "Earth 7,8, or 416" depending on what source you wish to look at, and came to the DCUORP universe.

That's how I am starting her story here. She left that Earth (The Marvel Universe) behind and now she is here. No gimics, no connections, no invasion of others from her world. Just a Photon powered alien half breed, space traveler, from another universe who's looking to make a place she can call home. THAT'S IT.

With that said, please view the next post on this profile to see further information. Thank you and please enjoy.

Name: Carol Danvers

Race: Kree/Human Half Breed

Apparent Age: 21

Gender: Female

Powers: Here we go, the nity gritty. What makes Captain Marvel tick. Well in my world yeah I had a lot going for me. but, sacrifice sometimes is the way to make your life more. So that said, here's the list of powers that I was able to retain after the long trip through space.

Binary: This is something very important. I see that there are some of you sorts that can do some pretty amazing things. Binary is a power that I can use that helps to enhance my abilities. Downside? It comes with massive risk. If I use too much of this power, I end up overextending myself and loose all my powers and possibly go catatonic for a few months. There is reasons not to use this power constantly. Even using it sparingly puts strain on my body. IT HURTS! So don't use that much force against me I won't use it against you.

Energy Absorbing: I can take most energies, meaning Magic, Technology, radiation, and meta power and pull it into myself. Note: THIS MAKES ME STRONGER DUMMY. :End Note

Energy Projection: I shoot lasers.. Really they are Photonic blasts that are generated from the energy that I naturally create, however my energy absorbtion directly affects this and makes it stronger.

Flight: Yup can still do it, How fast? really? *Carol takes a deep breath* you Justice League people really want to cover your p's and q's huh? Ok, roughly six times the speed of sound, without being strengthened by energy absorbtion. if you haven't noticed, all my powers are enhanced by that.

Super strength: Ugh, yes got that too. how much can I lift? well back home where a ton means "holy cow! you can lift tons? That's amazing! that's like 50 people at once! that's an 18 wheeler!" I could normally lift roughly 92 tons. Again with energy, it means I get stronger.

Super speed: I have the ability move at supersonic speeds, making me literally too fast for the human eye to follow. I can achieve speeds of at least Mach-3 during "in city" flight and I can hit even greater velocities when the need arises. Using Binary form, I can go faster-than-light speed and journey across the galaxy without oxygen. How else do you think I got here.

Super Agility: Yes. I'm not only fast but I can flip around and twirl and all sorts of nifty stuff. I can perform acrobatic feats far beyond that of the finest human athlete and easily evade bullet-speed projectiles. Can I dodge everything? Hah, I wish...

Near Perfect Invulnerability: I'm impervious to a lot of forms of damage and can absorb a tremendous amount of punishment without injury. I can survive unharmed in the cold vacuum of space. I'm bullet-proof up to a .50 caliber round and such attacks merely bounce off my skin on contact. I am unfazed by many Normal Physical attacks, not so much by those who are stronger. you see, I can resist and take a hit, but continuous and repeated hits will wear me down. I am also impervious to energy attacks, and in fact they make me stronger. BUT! Huge point here, Explosions DO HURT ME. I'm not a Ka-rip-toe-nax-ian or whatever that Superman guy is.

Super Stamina: I can exert myself at maximum effort for up to 24 hours before tiring. I know, yes it does mean I can do that too.

Regeneration: In the event that I'm hurt bad, I have a super-healing factor and am able to quickly regenerate from injury. My healing rate is accelerated even further if I am able to absorb and utilize external energy to help it. Point is yes I get hurt no I don't heal instantly. You know, Stuff can still hurt.. like with a bomb.

Minor Molecular Control: Ok, my favorite ability that I have, molecular control. I use it to transform regular clothing into costume and vice versa. This power works almost instantaneously, and has the effect of changing me from Carol Danvers to Captain Marvel in much the same way Superman does in the blink of an eye. No one uses phone booths anymore!

Weaknesses: Right, so because some people are like, "But Carol you have to have some sort thing that can hurt you easily." *glares at Batman* Here you go, want to beat me? want to make Captain Marvel the near dead thing? Ok... listen close, it's a difficult thing.. BOMBS, STUPID!! Really I mean I say all this stuff and you haven't figured out that large explosions hurt?!? Don't want me to come at you "Bro?" grab a boom boom switch and make with the alah ackbar threats. Get it?!? I can handle most things, but high yield explosives are not cool. Yes I can absorb the energy of the "burn" from a bomb.. but the concussive force is a totally different thing! Literally I can't sit there and just pretend I'm perfect.. I'm not! there! I said it... rude.. making me say stuff can hurt me... SHAME ON YOU BATMAN! GAH! You know what, turn your head! Oh wait! You can't or you'll snap your neck! Jerk...

Physical Appearance: Carol quirks her lips to the side staring with an unimpressed stare on her face. then types down. "I hate descriptions.. I'll just put a picture."

"Here's the kick ass suit seriously It changes on to what I want when I want."

"Here's me. you wanted to see fine here. Did I mention I'm a semi recovering alcoholic? That's literally bulletproof."

"And here's me looking up at the sky after a night mission with the Air Force. Great times."

History: Ok first off, I'm done with all the stuff I did way back when. Fact is I left it all behind for a obvious reason. This is sort of a journey to me, I haven't really set my life in stone. So here's what I'm willing to share.

First off, I'm a former soldier. I served for quite a long time as a ranking fighter pilot in the United States Air Force. Did I see combat? not saying. Fact is I served my country I did my part and I don't want anyone asking questions about it. 'nough said? good.

Next, Yes I have an alien cat that is completely awesome. It teleports, it has blood thirsty violent tentacles, it's called a Flerkin and I named it Chewie. It speaks an alien language that resembles feline but is completely sentient and strangely I seem to understand it.. Did I mention I was a recovering alcoholic?

Third, My DNA was bonded to the DNA of a alien race known as the Kree. This means, literally I'm an alien by genetics. This gives me my amazing superpowers. From what I hear of this world, I'm kinda like a Ka-rip-toe-nian I don't get powers from some goofy sun thing.

Fourth and finally, A more artistic ability I have is my writing talent. I have been a freelance journalist for some time in New York. I'm an accomplished author and have published several books, including a popular science-fiction novel based on my space adventures. I used to be a Magazine editor. (By the way, sorry to burst bubbles, but I'm a borderline lesbian level feminist. Enjoy!) As Editor, I covered all sorts of great stories, from the famous "Rosie the Riveter's true story" to "20 ways that Men and women can learn to coexist without pissing each other off." (side note, #2 was "Move women to a magical island." I hear you have something like that, and you say you don't read my works.)

Re: Ms Marvel/Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers)

I would like to make a short note, now that the profile is up.

Before anyone throws a fit, it's not what you would think.

Firstly, I would like to Apologize for my prior posting of this Character in the Heroes section. I had placed a note on it that was taken the wrong way and that was wrong of me. However, I will state that I feel the "Marvel Canon" argument/discussion/rage fit is old and frankly unfair period. and for people to raise a angry fist and throw threats and anger, especially ones specifically toward myself, over something as silly as "Marvel doesn't belong here!" I take it extremely personal. There are a plethora of characters in DCUORP that are not only from other comics/anime/TV shows/etc. But from movies as well. and to tell me specifically I can not play my character the way I wish, and then smile and pretend everything is okay with other people is not only crude but hurtful in a major way.

Secondly I would like to apologize to Powergirl/Supergirl for drawing drama toward her that was completely unneeded. Zhao Bim, I am so very sorry that my character brought you heartache during the short amount of time you were wanting to just have fun and RP with friends on a game that you love. As for the other side of the coin here, I will say this. Do not drag outside people into problems you have with me. If you have a problem, then be an adult and address the problem with me without going about starting trouble. No one comes onto DCUO to make other peoples lives anymore difficult than they may already be. So like I said, don't hurt innocent bystanders just because you have some sort of messed up issue with me.

Third and finally, I don't just make my characters without first doing heavy research and reading up on their story. I don't just slap a name on a screen and make it a thing. I make sure that I can RP-wise have a legitimate reason for things to be the way I have them. Trying to tell me that I should change my setting and character to fit everyones desired little mold is unrealistic and unfair to me. So if the way I do things some how physically causes you pain or brings to you emotional distress I am very sorry.

I do not aim to nor wish for anyone to be hurt by my playing characters. So I ask you this in a rhetorical sense, "Is this character really the issue? Or is there some other reason that I (The player of Thundergirl) being singled out?"

I say that I feel like I'm being singled out, because of the fact that there are so many "other source canon" characters who have been created. these Characters DO get rp'd on a daily basis, but yet the people targeting Powergirl/Supergirl and myself seem to truly not witness, or even wish to "risk" saying a word to. So, in closing I would like to state two simple statements.

1. If you do not have any IC connection to any of my RP's, period. Please, do not attack anyone remotely connected to me about who and what I do in RP. Simply be a grown up individual and come to me privately and we can discuss and work the issue out.

2. If you have an issue with my RP or my characters remember that this is just a game. There is no prize for best in show. There is no gold star for most accurate story. There is no achievement for "lore accuracy". and There is no reason to make such a major issue about what goes on. Nor is there a reason to take issues outside of myself, my characters, or the people that I RP with and turn them into reasons to attack other people. Learn to smile, remember why you started RPing in the first place, and have fun just being "you".

If people still have an issue with this, they are not reading, and never will. So I will say this to anyone that wants to RP here. Just have fun. The community will either say yes or no to your character. Also, the community is not just me or a few others. There are so many people here and no one will totally agree on anything. I know that more than anyone.

As long as you can find people that will RP with you, you have made it. The drama that is around here is just not worth it. I did not start the RP channel years ago, to do that. I came here with the assumption that others wanted to write stories with others. So that said, why not do that?

This is not about me and Sharr having a connection or not. This is not about grudges between leagues or other people. This is about taking a character you love and putting life into her/him. This is Role Play, and to that end... have fun!

- Kara emoticon

P.S. Zhao. Thank you for this apology. It means a lot to me, and even though you were not fully at fault for how you wrote it before, it shows how caring you are to do this. I look forward to RPing with Captain Marvel, in so many ways. Thank you. :X

I think that me and Sharr can decide where a post goes. It is canon and it stays emoticon just like Galatea and others are not DCU canon, but are still canon.
