Re: Out of the Shadows

"Oh how sweet." Ashtyn purred. Then she struck like a serpent. Her fangs aimed for his shoulder.

Sliding through like butter, the bite would actually be quite gentle. She wasn't like the dark vampires of old. She had a reputation to uphold as the newest of the new. Her eyes would glow blue again, swirling like veiny blood in fact. Afterwards her tongue would slide over the wound as her teeth and soft lips pulled away. Her saliva would work wonders making the puncture holes disappear. And the little blood went a long ways for her so the man hopefully wouldn't be left drained either.

Her expression would soften dramatically then. "So... Tell me. Why does the shadow lady want you dead?" She asked in a whisper. An accent of British descent might be recognized. A native of England perhaps?

"Tell me everything." She ordered as her suffocating pupils dilated dramatically. Her beautiful eyes were mesmerizing... Commanding... Beautiful.

Re: Out of the Shadows

Whisked away in chilling darkness. When Meg stopped, Griffins nerves were beyond shaken. Unsure and unaware if she and the Set-like minion were in cahoots? "You've got jokes?" he clung to whatever foothold and solid object he could wrap leg and arms around.

He searched the area curiously. Anxiously even.
"Now what? I'm not sure to thank you or what?" He said with less sarcasm and more curiousity.

The man stared into her eyes and swayed elightly. Though the bite had startled him, he wasn't in pain of any kind. Now, his whole world revolved around those eyes. Blue, deep, beautiful. "She ... that woman. ... she said I was guilty for killing a lady. I think she was hired to kill me. .."

Meg looked around at the deserted Gorham street. "I'd say a thank you is in order. " Now, under more light, Meg's body became more solid. She was stunning, with long flowing hair and beautiful featureS. She looked back at the hero And smiled. "I could have easily brought you to some of the men you arrested and threw in Blackgate prison." She winked at him and brushed her hair back.

"Oh how terrible, how interestingly terrible." Replied Ashtyn now. She continued to look at the man with a small smile. "Did you kill the lady that you've accused of killing?" She asked now. Stepping a little closer as if genuinely intrigued by the coming gossip.
"And have you seen the shadowy woman before?" She asked right after.

A mouse scurried across the floor not too far away. Ashtyn didn't look. She didn't seem to care. She really didn't.

The poor man in front of her reeked of alcohol, regret, fear, anxiety. He was a drowning man. And in more than just the hot liquid he pursued. It was odd to Ashtyn. Someone who had gained immortality. To think that some men actively worked at killing themselves. Hmm.

Wrenching at his arms and back. The beautiful woman before him seemed far more realistic than before.
"I appreciate the help." He cracked his neck before Appropriating his posture.

"But you drop me into a trap then I'll stop at nothing to regulate it. Good looks or not." He declared looking at her. To her. If her eyes met his.

If she had, it would be available that he seemed sound minded and not feral. But surely certain. Even carrying confidence where he may fall shirt.

Griffin looked around a bit afterward. Observing his surroundings.
"What is...your....angle, anyhow?" He asked trying not to stare or admire her appearance too much.

The man looked at her with teary eyes now. "I don't know.... I was drunk, there was a car accident, and then I was in court. The judge found me not guilty so I guess not but... my lawyer is a crooked liar and would do anything to win a case.... I can't bear the thought if I killed an innocent woman." He said, honestly. He wiped his eyes, but it was clear he was a broken man.

Meg walked to the hero. "My 'angle'?" She asked and her smile widened. "I was sent to kill that man. There is a bounty on his head for his past crimes. The man killed an innocent woman when he was driving drunk. He deserved it." He said and stretched her hand out in front of her to shake his hand. "My name is Meg, by the way. and you can stop looking so nervous. If I wanted you dead, I woulda left you in that alley."

She frowned at the man, showing him some compassion. Poor bloke. "Try to remember..." She pressed with a whisper. Even if the story was a little depressing she would only have a clear cut course if she knew whether the guy was innocent or guilty.

Sometimes people knew about some subconsciously and they just needed to take a good look and see. If this didn't work Ash wasn't sure what she was going to do next. And that's when she was frowning inwardly at herself. Why did she care? She had killed others out of necessity at times. Aha. That's what it was... One, he could be very guilty of having been reckless. Two, the shadow woman didn't need to kill him, she wanted to.

Sitting down on the old desk behind her she motioned to the dust-filled chair beside it. "Please, have a seat. Then tell me what you remember... You must look through the alcohol." She said.

But then she had her head turning to the left. A sidelong glance at the noise she heard. The noise of flapping wings. And she was sure they weren't bird wings. That was a problem.

He lamented and thought over the notion of saving the man with a spot of regret. Though his better judgement ensured sound reasoning.

"Killing a man for that reason is ...unreasonable. but for a price, it's heartless and scoundrel work." He spat. Though shook her hand anyway.
"Im no angel.and hell if I'm a cop. But everyone has scruples. I'm more interested in who wants the s much dead, and why?" He asked though expecting no explanation.

Her threats hadn't fell on deaf ears. He heard her plainly.

"Im Griffin Hawk." He'd shake her hand too. It was the obvious thing to do.

Meg shook his hand and then her hand phased through his like shadowy smoke. "Griffin Hawk? What kind of name is that?" She asked woth a chuckle. She looked around the deserted street of Gotham. "I need to find that man. Whatever that woman was, she took him and I need to find theM. Probably kill her too for interferrng." she said.

The man broke down crying when he sat down. He was a blubbering idiot now, sobbing into his hands. He was trying to talk but the words were masked by the tears.

Re: Out of the Shadows

"Shh." She murmured. "Don't cry." Came her whispered plea. She didn't like seeing people crying, especially men, and especially when she needed it to be quiet...

Her eyes weren't on the poor man, instead they continued to peer towards the darkness of the remaining room. Her vampire sight was adjusting dramatically but for now she wasn't seeing anything of merit. And then it happened.

The silence that the rest of the room was experiencing suddenly was cut through with a whistle of metal through air. Ninja like discs came hurling across the distance, as if the shadows themselves were spitting death.

Ashtyn became a blur then as she intricately spun to avoid the weapons and then she was grabbing the man by the scruff of his neck and trying to pull him behind a pile of old furniture for some cover.

She let her lips brush his ear, "Life is a book of lessons. People are meant to learn... Now. Be. Quiet." She breathed.

And then she charged away. Moments later the darkness would be lit by a ball of flames. The biting fire went everywhere except to the one that threw it and Ashtyn who seemed to have an invisible barrier keeping her safe from the volatile element. The blonde beauty was in the midst of hand to hand combat with a dark haired woman, long chocolate hair that even in her ponytail almost reached her bum, and a man with pitch black hair and matching eyes. The two fighters were obviously vampires with their two signature fangs but in that moment they would seem quite dull compared to Ashtyn who had four fangs, two large and two small and an intricate swirl of tattoo markings that wrapped from her left cheek all the way down to her right ankle.
