Re: Hunting in Metropolis: The Wolfpack (Open RP)

Cora and Jak smiled and nodded. They both remained perfectly calm. Relaxed even. When Sayia started massaging her head Cora gave a quick frown to Jak. Otherwise they gave her their full attention. Jak answered mostly this time though.

"Alright then. Metropolis it is. This Zed person worth any trouble?" He asked, then lowering his voice his continued with, "Otherwise, we'll gladly help you take down the changer. Cora give her the map update already."

With a little start Cora pulled down her sleeve and twisted the silver bracelet that was along her forearm. Then the woman was placing a small ruby in front of Sayia. "You can tap into it like any other computer gadget or device. It has the map of Metropolis as well as safe points where one can access teleporters and/or catch a bite to eat with some friendly's. There are some markers there of the shadier places. But I included those so you know where not to go."

The smile of the green eyed man was perfection. It was regal. Masculine. Stylish. Confident. Attractive.

"Sure I suppose. I mean if you're into that type of thing. I try to avoid them though, fights are a nasty business best left to the outer sectors. War always brings ruin and misery in it's wake. Lives lost. Loved ones gone. It's costly too. Yeah no... I much rather get along with others. Have a few good laughs, share a drink or two."
He would wink quickly, but it was quite nonchalant and almost involuntarily done. Yet, that smile returned in all it's glory. Dazzling pearly whites. "But I suppose if I'm not the one fighting I can see the entertainment in it. To see where one moves correctly and the other sadly mistaken gets a good bump on the head." He chuckled now. A real boisterous thing that wasn't fake in the slightest.

"I couldn't help but notice that you were intrigued by the fight earlier. I mean, not that I was staring or anything but I saw you whip around to get a better look. I'm sure anyone noticed it. I mean..." He smiled with a quick shrug. "You're not the only one who looked of course, but you caught my eye from where I was. Then I noticed you were drinking alone. Mind if I join you?" He finished.

Back at the table of three. Cora piped up, "Well alright. I guess this will work best if you tell us what you want to do and we will help as we can with your plans." She now put down some credits. A tip of sorts for her wonderful drink and her earlier meal. Between the tip that Jak had placed earlier and this one. It was another 6000 credits.

Jak was nodding and rising with another stretch and yawn. His chest became exposed again and rippled with muscle all the way down to the top button of his pants. "You have a place to go? Or shall we go stop by our place?" He asked.

Sayia cracked her neck from side to side and stood up. She had a plan already; these two will just ensure it goes off a bit smoother than she could hope for. “Yeah I have a plan, we track down Zed and make him talk. Zed is more of a pathetic creature, with a lust for the female, or male, depending on what it decides it wants to be that day. It would be the one in the dancing club surrounded by a group of people all caught in a haze. It is a pretty disgusting being. So we simply have to find the most dark, seediest, slimiest night spot in Metropolis with males and females who can be purchased, and we find him. He’s likely to have three body guards with him as his profession doesn’t make him many friends mind you… As for being trouble, other than the body guards Zed may have a weapon as a sort of last resort…” she said and looked to the exit.

“As for a place where we can prepare, I have a place, but it may be best we use your place for now. I’m a private person, and I’m already sharing more than I normally would. So lead on. ” She said to him.

Getting ready in her eyes was simply popping the ZPE drive into her suit and getting ready, but she’d not tell them that.

Keik shrugged once as she would take another drink. “Hey it’s a free bar, you can sit where you want.” She replied to him.

“Get my friend a round of whatever he’s drinkin! Put it on my tab!” She said.

“The tab you still haven’t paid yet Keik.” The bartender said, rolling her eyes once. “Alright what’ll you have sir?”

“Heh that’s what tabs are for though!” she said in reply. She chuckled and would order herself another round and then look to him. “I’m a Zanarkian, we thrive in combat. I never understood a mindset like yours. You see to me combat is constantly happening all around us, in various ways of course, but I simply prefer to watch physical combat. That is the only way to TRULY learn someone’s motivations, heart, soul, through combat.” She said then nodded sagely.

“I mean yes… Wars will be fought, its inevitable, its part of evolution, survival of the fittest, the strong protecting the weak, the predator preying on the prey, it is all part of life, and while war does bring ruin, it also brings salvation, justice, and hope to others.”

“So those two, friends of yours? I couldn’t help but notice you all shared a few… similarities. Seems they have a plan for that girl.” She said, cutting her eyes at him.

Pulling their hoods tighter about their pretty faces. Cora and Jak looked ready to go. They darted their eyes around the room as if scanning for something. Then Cora spoke in a musical language, murmuring something to Jak and he nodded then turned to Sayia.

"Please take my hand for a moment." His strong hand was outstretched for her to grasp. She would be able to notice that the sapphire fist was gone. Cora was turning around and facing the wall. No eyes were currently on them.

Back at the counter, Mr. Green eyes only smiled more. He would nod to the bartender and put another 1000 credits down. "Place this towards her tab please." Then he was nodding with Keik and agreeing with her. "You're right. Absolutely. It seems I have much to learn still. Perhaps I'll go looking for more Zanarkians. Uh, friends?" His sparkling eyes would look over to the table where Cora and Jak had sat with Sayia. But he frowned and looked back at Keik. "I don't see anyone there."

Because they weren't. Cora had placed a fingertip against that back and dark wall. A small circle of ruby crystals appeared there, then she tapped it and disappeared into it. Jak then, holding Sayia gently, if she had allowed, would make his own hands covered with the sapphire material again. And the hand that held Sayia's would make the sapphire crystals grow over her hand as well. "Don't worry." He would have said with a warm smile. Then he would tap the ruby mat and the world would become inverted for a moment before like wisps of magic the three would appear to be orbs of light swirling. And they would race down a tunnel of sorts until the world came back together. The three would be standing outside the building in the back alley. The ruby and sapphire all gone. "Feels funny the first few times, sorry."

To Keik, "But you're right. I won't lie or make you uncomfortable. Some friends of mine had been here. But curiosity spiked... What is so similar about us?" He added to the bartender, "Firewater please."

Cora and Jak then twisted the bracelets they wore and moments later a slight teleport took place. And the three would be in a small hovering ship. It was completely invisible and seemed capable of holding at least 5 people comfortably. "Sit down and buckle up. This thing is fast... We'll get to our hotel room in no time."

Less than 10 minutes later, entering through the balcony doors, the three would be in a fancy hotel room. Actually a few hotel rooms connected together. "You can have the spare bedroom if you decide to stay." Cora says. Sayia would notice there were already three other bedrooms.

In the common space Jak would twist his bracelet again and the center table would emanate a sort of holographic monitor, a map of Metropolis was there as well as statistics on the invisible little ship "parked" outside. Along the walls pictures would swirl into the walls and be replaced with racks of different equipment. All elegant looking with gold and silver trimmings... There were guns and deadly blades as well as other esoteric stuff, including more of the bracelets that Jak and Cora both seemed to possess. "You wanna input the data you have on this Zed fellow? The R-D will pinpoint locations most likely to match what you said about him." Cora was saying as she sauntered over to one wall and started to pull down a gem studded belt and an electrum looking chain.

Teleportation.

It always bothered her. Even if this was some kind of wormhole teleportation, which honestly worried her even more than just normal good ole wormhole travel. So when they arrived outside she took a deep breath and gave a sigh.

“Funny feeling isn’t the half of it. But I assume you have a…” again that sinking feeling as they were sucked in and upwards, teleported to a ship. She would steady herself and quickly strap in as she saw them preparing to take off.

The trip wasn’t very long, but it was good enough to give her a chance to center herself as her hyper senses had taken a beating, so when they entered the hotel room she whistled and looked around, hands on her hips.

“Pretty nice place. Looks rather pricey, much better than where I was staying…” She said quietly as Cora offered her the room. They were awfully friendly, especially to a stranger they knew nothing about… bringing her back to their hide out, showing her where they kept the weapons and supplies? All seemed… too good to be true.

Worst case scenario they are looking to capture me too, but I’ll play along for now…

“Thanks, I appreciate the room. I’ll need to do a bit of scouting the area, to get familiar with my surroundings.” She said as she looked around and noticed the third room. “So where is the other one? I see there are four rooms, but only two of you.” She’d wait on their answer then walk to the holo-map. Her own display would appear over her wrist, and she’d then let her voice recording play, entering all the information once more.

The R-D would most likely pick up a place called the Pink Pussycat club. An adult wonderland. It was underground and you needed invitations to get in as it had guards stationed on the outside. She glanced over to Cora, seeing the belt and chain and raised an eyebrow, but kept it to herself.

These people are definitely up to something… she thought to herself and as she closed out the holo information on her wrist engaged her tracking systems on her Zero Suit.

She laughed when he said the word “Friend”. If only he knew… “Friends, well I’d not go that far. Friends in my people’s mind means you’re prepared to die with them if need be. And I’d not suggest you go looking for more Zanarkians… Most are not as.. tempered,,, as I am.” She said with a smirk.

She then would move closer to him as she spoke. “You know, I’ve traveled across half the universe, seen some REALLY messed up stuff and run across all kinds of people in my life as a bounty hunter, but one thing never changes, no matter the place, no matter the world or race, you always have people trying to trick you, manipulate you…” she said.

“All three of you are Royal armsmen from quite a ways away. And two of you just took that girl rather she realizes it or not. Now its not none of my business really, but I want to know what are you doing here, and what do your friends plan to do with that girl?”

Jak stood calmly as he allowed Sayia to transfer the information from her device to the R-D and vice versa. "Cool. If you walk out the door and take the elevator just remember that this is a human hotel. So you might wanna hide your alien tech. Otherwise there is a side stairway from the balcony you can take straight down to the sidewalk. You want company on your scouting mission? Otherwise I am going to stick around here and gear up for this little adventure. Might gather some more intel on this Zed guy if I can too." He said.

Cora was nodding her agreement as she began to size the belt around her slender waist. "Yeah, gearing up myself. You're welcome to try one of these if you'd like, but I noticed earlier that you have a suit of some kind yourself. The room is available to you for as long as you'd like. And um Harnet will be along shortly. He likes to be a loner sometimes." She said smirking. She must have caught the look Sayia was giving her then because then she smiled warmly again and offered the electrum chain. "I know we're strangers and whatever but we really don't mean you any harm. This is a weapon. I won't lie. But I was just trying to figure out if I wanted to bring it along or not. Also this place..." She motioned all around her, indicating their lovely hotel room. "Is one of many. We have money and that's why we do well. That's why we aren't worried about showing these things to you. Honestly we don't fully trust you yet bounty hunter. But we were raised to treat others as we would like to be treated. So... Until you prove to be our enemy, you are our friend." Then she went to the R-D and peered at some readings. She started mumbling something in her musical language. Jak nodded, his arms were crossed and he pulled his eyes off of Sayia and turned his back to her so he could bend down and peer at the R-D too.

Back at the Club there had been a moment of silence before a response came forward to Keik.
"I see. My name is Harnet Addapas and I am an Opalian. I guess you already know that... Zanarkian. You may be implying that I am trying to manipulate you or something but I assure you that isn't the case. On Irvapaal we are taught to communicate fully our feelings and opinions, and by communicating with others we can establish understanding with them. I am been very honest with you. My friends offered that girl sanctuary. Obviously after being attacked by a band of mercenaries, she could use it. But instead... Bounty Hunter. You look to the possible chaos, mayhem, violence. I am trying to prevent it."

He would gulp the firewater down quickly and then he would let out a small noise of satisfaction as the heat of the drink hit him. "Friend is a nice thing to say to someone. If you wish I didn't call you that, then fine, stranger. I think I will take my leave now."

And he would begin to rise. "Oh and do you even know what it means to be a Royal Armsmen?"

Cora and Jak would turn, looking over their shoulders to Sayia. "If you're going to be long there is a spare key to the room on the side table near the front door."

She would shake her head to Cora and point to her chest. “No thanks, you’re right, I have my own gear, surprised you noticed. And look I’ll be honest, I am wary of everyone, I have to be considering what I do for a living, so don’t take it personally, and in this universe you are better off being cynical or you’ll end up in a Zenobian Alamite mine.” She said. “But I DO appreciate the hospitality.”

“As for the club. I think we all need to go. Zed is…well lets just say anyone of you could end up being in its purview.” She said. “We can leave once everyone’s ready and head out. A few things to remember, Zed is very jumpy, and also adept at genetic manipulation so there’s a chance the humans he would have around him are not normal for humans.” She said. “But looking at how you handled the wolves I doubt we need to worry about you in a fight.:”

Meanwhile a large wolf, around 8 feet tall and 400lbs strode into the club along with several of his compatriats. They sniffed the air then would head directly for Harnet and Keik. All wore body armor and definitely looked more like pirates and hunters than anything.

“Who is the one that harmed my younger brothers! Speak up or we’ll tear everyone in here apart!”

She frowned and looked to the man leaving as Tela spoke in her ear "Keik they could be worth keeping a positive relationship with, you never know when you'll be hunting in their sector..." she would sigh and as he got up to leave would call out to him.

"Hey, hold up. in my line of work you have to be careful with who you talk to, you never know when someone wants revenge for you busting their mate or family, or boss or kid. And my people, we're a bit stand offish, so don't let it put you out too badly." she said.

"And no, don't call me friend, call me Keik.

She’d narrow her eyes as the large group would enter. “They must have gotten some kind of call from their brothers… And tracked the scent here. Which means…” she stood up and would walk over to Harnett quickly, speaking to him lowly.

“You were with them, they’ll smell you.. Look you don’t look like the fighting type, so let me deal with this.” She said and would look up to the “Alpha”

“Hey, you kin to those furballs? You owe this establishment some credits for the mess they made, why don’t you pay up.”

Harnet had remained completely cool. Unashamed in fact as the head wolf barked his way towards them and the bar counter. He smiled warmly as Keik pushed to face the wolf and the kind words she had sent his way. But there was a steel in his eyes as they flashed green.

Harnet had not spent his time with Cora or Jak throughout their stay in the club. Yes he did at times, but he wore different clothes then them, he lived and operated separately from them mostly as well. He was not afraid. Not of being 'sniffed' out or with the possibility of having to fight these thugs either. Hm. Perhaps Keik would learn more about Opalians tonight after all. More about Royal Armsmen. More about a lot of things. Yes, he thought as he couldn't help stop the small bubbly laughter that escaped his lips. Zanarkians and Opalians were different in culture and ritual and perhaps even in philosophy. But a fight was a fight and that... Although they frowned upon, they were good at.

"It's true. Your companions suddenly barged in here and started pointing out a girl who had just entered. They were loud and accusative and were clearly hostile. They caused the damage you see here. But the guy who fought them left already." He said in his warm voice, his velvet tone. Absentmindedly he twisted at something under his sleeve.

Back in the hotel room Cora gasped something, the only sound that had not been pleasant before she continued to speak in her strange tongue. Jak strained closer to the screen and started speaking too. They were animated before Cora looked back to Sayia.
"Look. More of the wolf guys are at the club. Harnet is there and we can now see what he sees."

True enough. The screen was showing the club from a single persons perspective. The big Zanarkian, the big wolfmen, and the rest of the club surrounding them...

"Might be good if we get to this Zed brat sooner than later."
