"Unfortunately I underestimated the tenacity of the Kryptonians, and they managed to force me to flee, leaving the Oan technology behind along with most of the Kryptonite crystals. I returned to Cadmus with the one crystal left in my possession. Cadmus informed me that the research could be completed successfully with just the one crystal, but that they required the Oan technology, and that the research could not continue without it." "The tracking devices on the Oan technology showed that they were being held in a tower near Metropolis University. This tower was the home base of the Justice Tribunal. The tower was a well fortified location. Retrieving the Oan technology on my own would likely be impossible. Cadmus offered me use of a large number of their soldiers, armed with non-lethal energy weaponry. Using these soldiers, I breached the Justice Tribunal tower." Her ring shifts to show a holographic image of the tower. She and the Cadmus soldiers teleport high into the air near the tower. She blasts the tower wall with a gigantic blast of energy, blowing it apart, and uses her ring to float herself and the soldiers inside before the tower's force field can erect itself. "Once inside, our job was to locate the Oan technology, disable the force field surrounding the tower that prevented the Cadmus teleporters from operating, and then escape. We encountered heavy resistance from the remaining members of the Justice Tribunal in the tower. However, the assault teams managed to successfully disable the force field. I was also able to locate the Oan technology, but was forced to use my teleportation beacon, which was attached to my Lantern Battery, to teleport the Oan technology back to Cadmus without me. The soldiers were all evacuated safely, leaving me alone in the Justice Tribunal tower. I was unable to escape on my own, and was captured." Hal Jordan seemed irritated by this, and slammed his fist down on the table in front of him. "Why didn't you contact us?! You attacked the Justice Tribunal tower! At that point, you should have known better than to break the trust between the Corp and the League!" Teyal nodded at Hal Jordan. "I consulted the Guardians overseeing my mission before taking any action. They continued to recommend that I not speak to the other Lanterns regarding my mission, and that it was better that the Earthlings consider me a rogue lantern rather than reveal the intentions behind my mission. The goal was for this weapon to be completed without anyone learning of it. It is intended to be the last line of defense against an unlikely but dangerous scenario." "I spoke with Power Girl many times over the course of the week I spent in confinement in the Justice Tribunal tower, and began to gain her trust. This was necessary for the completion of my mission, but I believe the friendship I had with her was genuine. After several meetings, she returned my Lantern ring to me, and asked that I help repair the damage I caused to the Justice Tribunal tower. I agreed to this arrangement." "I repaired most of the damage I caused to the tower, leaving a single hole in the wall of the tower from which I could make my escape. The day after I completed these repairs, my ring hummed, indicating that Cadmus had completed the development of the anti-Kryptonian weapon." Hal Jordan interjected once again. "You mean the Lantern Battey?" Teyal nodded in affirmation. "Yes. The adjustments made to the Lantern Battery had effects on my ring that I could detect. When the development was complete, I knew it was time to leave. I escaped my cell and returned to the Cadmus laboratory. Once there, the Cadmus personnel evacuated due to the threat of the Kryptonite radiation that would be expelled during the final step of the weapon's completion." "I sealed myself in a lead vault made specifically for the Lantern Battery, and made the final necessary adjustments myself using my ring. These adjustments caused the Kryptonite crystal to shatter inside the Lantern Battery, forming a large radioactive cloud inside the Cadmus facility. Using my ring and the Lantern Battery, I managed to draw the radioactive gas back into the Lantern Battery, condensing it into its final form and integrating it with the battery." "This is when I heard the crash of the elevator down into the underground Cadmus laboratory. Power Girl, Thunder Girl and an unknown human had detected the radioactive burst and had come to investigate. I asked Power Girl to leave, and indicated that it would be dangerous for her to remain, but she refused to leave. Thunder Girl and the human attempted to breach the vault I was in, and so I was forced to complete the anti-Kryptonite weapon before they could stop me." "The final step in activating the weapon was to draw energy from the Kryptonite Battery, permanently giving it the Kryptonite properties desired. I recited my oath in front of the battery and recharged my ring from it, changing my ring's light to have the same properties as Kryptonite. My one hope was that Power Girl and Thunder Girl would understand the danger they were in, and would leave immediately." Hal Jordan frowned. "You read the damn reports I wrote about Earth, you should have known how stubborn Power Girl is. And even then, that's not an excuse!" Teyal shook her head. "No, it is not. However, I still asked Power Girl and her friends to leave. Before I could take action though, a human male voice spoke through the intercom in the laboratory. He activated a Red Lantern based light in the vault. Normally Red Lantern energy would not affect me, but the Kryptonite Light I was empowered with is not as strong or resilient as pure Lantern energy. While the Kryptonite Light is immensely effective against Kryptonians, it is drastically weaker than standard hard light for any other purpose. Thus the Red Lantern Light affected me, and caused me to rage out of control. This further weakened my lantern powers, but the Kryptonite properties of my lantern light was still lethal to Power Girl and Thunder Girl." "As a last resort, Power Girl used her heat vision to cut off my ring hand, and melted the lead door they had to break through earlier over the Kryptonite Battery. Unfortunately the amount of Kryptonite radiation Power Girl had exposed herself to was lethal. Thunder Girl managed to extract myself and Power Girl from the laboratory, and it is my understanding that Power Girl still lives, thankfully." "Unfortunately, I do not know where the Kryptonite Battery is now. It is my belief that the man who spoke over the intercom had orchestrated the events leading up to the confrontation in the vault with the intention of using me to kill Power Girl and Thunder Girl. He had the Oan technology and Kryptonite crystals stolen from the Cadmus laboratory, and informed the Justice League of the Kryptonite transfer. He intended for Power Girl or Superman to learn of my existence on Earth, intended for them to be present at the completion of the anti-Kryptonian weapon, and wished to use the Red Lantern Light to force me to kill them." She rubbed her wrist once more, where her hand had been reattached only one day ago. "I am fortunate that he did not succeed. However, it is my belief that this man now has possession of the Kryptonite Battery. My mission is not yet completed until this battery is returned to Oa, where it can be kept safely until it is ever needed." She lowers her eyes, and then closes them. "I understand that what I have done is wrong. That keeping my actions a secret, and pursuing the development of this weapon was in error. I have met Kara Zor-L, and befriended her. She is not an enemy that Oa needs defending against. However, it is now my duty to defend her from the threat I have created." She opens her eyes, and raises them, her gaze meeting Hal Jordan's. "Let me complete my mission. Let me retrieve the Lantern Battery and return it to Oa, where it belongs. No more secrets. Nor more lies. No more deception. I leave my fate in the judgement of the Guardians." Teyal steps back, and folds her hands behind her back, awaiting the decision of the Guardians and Hal Jordan. Hal looks among the Guardians present in the hearing. An hour later, Teyal walks out of the chamber with her resolve in tact. She had a mission to complete, only this time, she would do things right.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Teyal)Sun, 24 Aug 2014 04:59:10 +0000 Re: Green Lighthttps://bdcuoroleplayershaven.runboard.com/p13667,from=rss#post13667https://bdcuoroleplayershaven.runboard.com/p13667,from=rss#post13667"Lantern #7739-861, Honor Guard Teyal. You've caused quite a mess here on Earth, so explain yourself. Give your full report, and don't leave anything out." Hal Jordan did not look pleased. He stood in judgement of Teyal in the Justice League Watchtower. The holographic images of several Guardians flared to life to hear the testimony of the rogue Lantern. Anyone with lesser composure would have been intimidated by the gathering. To Teyal's credit though, she maintained a stoic stature. The blue skinned Green Lantern rubbed the wrist of her ring hand absently. It still did not feel quite normal, but Saint Walker had assured her that it would fully heal. She trusted his judgement. Teyal took one step forward, and began her report. "Approximately one year ago, I brought the dangers of the Kryptonian threat to the attention of The Guardians. The Guardians calculated that a coordinated assault by all known Kryptonians at full strength would be devastating to Oa and the Green Lantern Corp." One of The Guardian holograms interrupted her at this moment. "That is preposterous, I have heard no reports of this. Do you expect us to believe that?" Teyal nodded in reply. "The Guardians I brought this to chose to not share their findings with the other Guardians. I did not question their judgement or wisdom." The Guardian holograms all seemed disturbed by this, but Teyal continued her report. "While it is unlikely that the Kryptonians would rebel in force against Oa, the possibility remained that they could be coerced or controlled into doing so. The threat was great enough that The Guardians felt the Green Lantern Corp needed appropriate countermeasures to defeat the Kryptonians should the need ever arise. They asked me to investigate the reports of the Green Lanterns of sector 2814 to determine logical countermeasures to undertake." She held up her ring, and formed a holographic image of a Kryptonite crystal. "I discovered in the reports that the Kryptonians were especially weak to the radiation emanating from a rare crystal known as Kryponite. I surmised that these crystals could form the basis of the countermeasure The Guardians desired against the Kryptonian threat." She lowers her ring, the image fading. "Given the rarity of the crystal and Oa's limited knowledge of it, The Guardians commanded me to go to Earth to research and develop a Kryptonite based weapon for the defense of Oa." "My orders stipulated that my mission was to remain secret from the other Green Lanterns. They feared that should my mission become known to the other Lanterns, or to the natives of Earth, the relationship between the Green Lantern Corp and the Justice League would become strained. Because my mission would require me to give up patrols of my home sector, they promoted me to Honor Guard so that a new lantern could be chosen." "My studies of the reports from Earth revealed that an organization known as Cadmus had previously done advanced research into anti-Kryptonian technologies and weapons. When I arrived on Earth I made contact with Cadmus, and we began working together. Using the small amounts of Kryptonite they had, combined with my lantern ring, we discovered a compatibility between the light of a Green Lantern and the radiation of the Kryptonite crystals. It was possible to attune a Green Lantern's Ring to give off this radiation." "Unfortunately the technology to attune a ring or Lantern Battery for more than a few seconds did not exist on Earth. Thus I contacted The Guardians in charge of my mission, and reported the findings of the research. They approved of the findings, and prepared the appropriate technology necessary for Cadmus to develop the Kryptonite Lantern, using my own Lantern Battery. I returned to Oa to pick up the technology and deliver it to Earth." Hal Jordan interjected. "So that explains the Oan tech. But how did you lose track of it? And how did you lose track of the Kryptonite crystals?" Teyal frowned. "I delivered the Oan technology to Cadmus as expected. While I was away at Oa, Cadmus had purchased and delivered the Kryptonite they needed to their lab. Unfortunately, shortly after the delivery was completed, and while I was away from the lab itself, the lab was robbed by armed men. They took the Oan technology, the Kryptonite, and several pieces of Cadmus lab equipment. When I returned to the lab, the Cadmus scientists asked me to help retrieve their stolen equipment." "The Oan technology I brought with me had tracers on it that let me track its location. I traced it to a warehouse in Metropolis, but unfortunately I arrived after Power Girl, Thunder Girl, and a young Kryptonian man had arrived there first. Somehow the Justice League and other Earth organizations had been alerted to the robbery of the Kryptonite almost immediately after it happened. When I arrived at the warehouse, I found the Oan technology and a crate that I hoped contained the Kryptonite." She pauses for a moment, and frowns in thought. "At this time, I believe the robbery and the alert sent out to the Justice League were not coincidences. I believe that these were carefully orchestrated maneuvers to reveal the anti-Kryptonian research and my presence on Earth to the Kryptonians. If the robbery had not occurred, or the Justice League not notified of the Kryptonite transfer, it is likely that the research would have been completed without anyone on Earth ever knowing of its existence." "Regardless, my orders stated that the completion of the anti-Kryptonian weapon was of utmost importance, and that I could take no risks that would jeopardize its completion. Thus when I found the Kryptonite in its crate in the warehouse, I chose to attempt to drive the three Kryptonians away so that I could return the Kryptonite and the Oan technology to Cadmus. There was a risk that co-operation with the Kryptonians would not leave the technology and the Kryptonite in my hands. That risk was unacceptable."nondisclosed_email@example.com (Teyal)Sun, 24 Aug 2014 04:58:45 +0000 Re: Green Lighthttps://bdcuoroleplayershaven.runboard.com/p13530,from=rss#post13530https://bdcuoroleplayershaven.runboard.com/p13530,from=rss#post13530Kassi Karsen Green Lantern of sector 1402 is at your service when ever you want =-) nondisclosed_email@example.com (Sprite Speed)Fri, 15 Aug 2014 02:58:58 +0000 Re: Green Lighthttps://bdcuoroleplayershaven.runboard.com/p13514,from=rss#post13514https://bdcuoroleplayershaven.runboard.com/p13514,from=rss#post13514I had a lot of fun in this short scene. Thundergirl was the first to arrive at the scene, followed by Nox-Or and Powergirl shortly after. The three Kryptonians bravely attempted to stop the transfer of Kryptonite, despite the dangers of being exposed to the deadly crystal's radiation. The transfer took place in an abandoned factory. Five men were loading three crates, one at a time, onto an advanced teleportation pad, which teleported the crates away after being loaded. The first of the crates was teleported away just as the three Kryptonians arrived on scene, with the second being loaded onto the teleportation pad just as they burst into the factory. The five goons pulled out pistols, to no avail against the three Kryptonians. During the brief fight, Powergirl knocked the third of the three crates into the factory wall, breaking it open to reveal not Kryptonite, but instead a mix of both alien and Earth technology, advanced well beyond the paygrade of the goons they were fighting. The goons were subdued quickly. Momentarily after the fight ended, an unknown, alien Green Lantern descended from the newly-made hole in the roof. She introduced herself as Teyal, and claimed she was an Honor Guard in the Green Lantern Corp. She also claimed that the alien technology from the broken crate was in fact of Oan origin. Powergirl and Thundergirl were readily trusting of the Green Lantern, while Nox-Or seemed suspicious of the newcomer. Nox-Or's suspicions were proven correct only a moment later, when Teyal cut open the second of the three crates, and pulled out an incredibly large Kryptonite crystal. Upon presenting it to the three Kryptonians, she immediately attacked Powergirl, knocking her into Nox-Or. While Thundergirl and Powergirl, not being native of this dimension's Krypton, were somewhat resilient to the Kryptonite's effects, Nox-Or fell immediately, his life at risk due to being in such close proximity to the radioactive crystal. The odds turned even further against the three Kryptonians when Teyal lifted the other three crystals from the crate, the combined radiation of these crystals deadly to all three of them. Teyal demanded that the three Kryptonians flee for their lives, but Thundergirl bravely stood her ground, giving Powergirl enough time to evacuate the factory with Nox-Or. Once Nox-Or was outside the factory, Powergirl used one of the remnants of the lead crates to launch a surprise attack on Teyal. Powergirl threw the lead above Teyal's head, leaving Thundergirl to melt the metal with her heat vision, covering Teyal with liquid lead. Teyal's power ring seemed to protect her, but she was forced to drop three of the four Kryptonite crystals. This turned the odds strongly against the Green Lantern, and she was forced to flee with the one remaining Kryptonite crystal in hand. Teyal's sudden attack on the three Kryptonians left more questions than answers. Was Teyal a rogue Green Lantern? And what did she have against the Kryptonians? Was she working with or against the goons making the Kryptonite transfer? Why was Oan technology found at the scene? What was in the crate that was teleported away? And who was the buyer of all this Kryptonite? Fortunately for Powergirl and her compatriots, there is plenty of evidence to sift through. While the Oan technology is largely incomprehensible except to those that are experts in it, the human technology found on the scene offers a more telling tale. The pieces of human technology all have the same symbol on them: The five goons, when questioned, claimed to know nothing of who they worked for. Extensive interrogation and psychic scans did not reveal anything new from them. The most meaningful evidence, then, is the symbol found on the human technology, and whatever might be learned from The Green Lantern Corp concerning Teyal. ((OOC part: That's what has happened so far! I am more than happy to entertain followup in these forums for the bits that are offline, such as any investigations into the symbol, or questions of the Green Lantern Corp or The Guardians themselves. In terms of who can participate in this, for the first session I wanted to keep it Kryptonian focused, and I didn't want to have so many heroes participating that Teyal would be overwhelmed in her opening encounter. In future sessions, it is very likely that Powergirl might seek the aid of non-Kryptonians, who won't be as hindered by the remaining Kryptonite crystal that is in Teyal's hands. So there's room for people who are interested in the story. Green Lantern participation in this story will almost certainly require some extra RP before getting involved in a fight against Teyal. Additionally, I'm looking for a villain or two who wants to work with me on this one, particularly those that have some connection to LexCorp. Having more than one antagonist in this story might open it up for more people to play. Let me know if you want to participate, and I'll be more than happy to talk about what is going on behind the scenes. Once some of the investigation is out of the way, I'd like to run part 2 of this story sometime this weekend.))nondisclosed_email@example.com (Teyal)Thu, 14 Aug 2014 01:34:36 +0000
