informal meetings- ((Concluded))- {No-Name Agenda episode 2}
Panel lights flashed likened that of a hearts beat. Like several at once, in unison. Beating to its own cryptic pattern. At the center of the room was a 'throne-like' chair. Attached to it, a network of wires and receptor lines. Adorned upon it was a 'crowned' user. Specifically suitable to this aparatus' purpose. This seat functioned by way of monitoring, and viewing as an amplified signal receiver. A beacon sent out by way of its users ability to superhumanly seek out the meta gene. (Connected to the lines, by way of its head gear.)
Milling about the outside of this machine were various operators on hand. Making adjustsments and manning each computer as appropriate. Gleaming monitors and devices functioning underway. This was a control room. A monitor headquarters center. At its helm, within the cebrally connected chair, was whom is known only by "Census".
-----------------------------------------
Gotham nightlife provided a plethora of selection. All walks of life had a place. Devlin Decker capitalized on a lot that went on in the city. Hustling, and scamming to make ends meet. Hitting the
right angles, and supplying all the right potentials to coerce lucrative contacts.
Card games were a dime a dozen. But in the Iceberg Lounge. Card counting sharks got discovered daily. Then would become extinct over night. This time, the hustle was tough. Sinking hand after hand. He had to position his deameanor and approach
To acquire the needed prestige. He had to jive a hand, but... damn his cellphone?

Re: ■□ Emptied Nest □■
The army hadn't been stationed in Gotham long. 6 months, give or take a few weeks, but Scarlet's guess. So, it wasn't surprising her superiors didn't know who the movers and shakers of the city's underworld were. Had they known who owned the iceberg lounge, they probably wouldn't have chosen it to be the meeting place for their monthly dinner meet and greet with some of the highest ranking officers in this country. Most of the command staff that was not needed on base, and some of the rising stars of the military forces, were asked to attend to make the Gotham branch look good.
Scarlet walked through the doors of the ice berg lounge in a floor length black gown, with a Queen Ann neckline, a princess waistline and a trumpet silhouette. The bottom of the dress opened up on the bottom back with a flair of pearl white that shimmered in the low light of the restaurant. Her unruly hair was styled nicely with a black and white butterfly clip and she was actually waring makeup, though very little and as natural looking as possible.
Her commanding officer smiled and waved her to join him, a few other ranking officials and the people-to-impress at the bar. As she walked towards them, someone caught her eye.
The man she was asked to find by the secret organization that had instructed her to find Devlin Decker. Whether it was good luck that she would happen to run into him again, or bad luck that she was in high heels and a dress, making it possible for her to chase him down if she had to, remained to be seen. She walked to the bar with a slight smile and greeted her fellow soldiers, who refrained from making comments on her beauty and elegant appearance. Maybe because they tried to remain professional, or maybe because they knew she would react in a less than nice way.

Re: ■□ Emptied Nest □■
The hand went afoul yet again. He had to sink it, otherwise it wouldve been obvious 'cheat' play. Devlin Deckers natural "luck"was surely absent this evening?
"Ahh...helll, I'm out like trout. Goose eggs again, boys." Decker said as he began to dismiss himself at the table. Running four fingers through his 'longish'blobde hair. It gave off a distressed and lax demeanor. Missing the entry of the remarkably beautiful soldier. ( Scarlet, whom he had briefly interacted with prior)
The Gambler took for the bar. Defeat hung in the baggy deposits beneath his eyes. Now he needed a Strategy. Some resource material, maybe? A loser gets a lot of attention from cocktail waitresses. Maybe he'd be able to talk one up, for a card game across the casino worth jumping in? Maybe he coukd get tipped off on a sucker or two? Maybe find a workable game? Say, one which had a fat pot, and a fat 'whale' to take from? "Whales'' helped make the prestige games prestigious. These traveling spoiled billionaires with nothing better to do than abuse casino 'comps' and spend their cash at the hot tables, or 'invite only' tournies?
*peruses the casino floor for his next stop.
Devlin was in a bind. But had wiggle room. Wanting to win a hustle without invoking his meta-granted probability power. He would cheat to win, but his ethics had protocol.
-----------------------------------------
"Call in Locke as soon as possible.''
Said the man operating the intense head gearing, beneath its seat. Aparatus like a throne within a hive. His dark complected skin was the only evidence of actual human operating, while housed into the seat like machine. Its wiring and receptors were like totalitarian reach when in use.
"Yes sir, Coordinator."respectfully responded the subordinate to the meta genetic superior. Census.
Census added:
" ..in the meanwhile find our girl..." he mention nonchalantly.
"...I want eyes on her. Hell...send the waylay agent in. Tail and intervene duty...hell, have her Nudge her if need be?"
Lights and clicks heralded the multiple computer operators abiding the Controlman's every command.
"Census sir, positioning satelites. 123 and 646 to triangulate an input coordinate." Announced one of the controlroom operators. Then in conclusion thev had responded:
"Gotham City, New Jersey standard, one Iceberg Lounge...sir. She is still in the States....also...it should be noted...There's a bit of a scrambler set over its perimeter? A casi ...."
Waving the declaration off as a response, the throned aparatus- Controlman responded:
"Yes...yes..Cobblepot's Casino and Casa...its as should be expected in that area...not our concern.......Patch me to waylay agent 06. "
With a few keystrokes and seconds later. A link to the operative was had.
"Agent zero-zero-six, Codenamed: Shang-Shang...this is 'The Controlman', Census...do you copy?" Census hailed, using the brainwaves coupled his empowerment to channel through tbe cobtrolrooms device. No matter the area, or space. This communication was absolute. Such governmental authority was wielded solely by United Nations handling.

Scarlet joined in on the General's conversation, but kept Devlin tracked out of the corner of her eye. When their table was called, she excused herself for "just a moment" and walked out onto the Casino floor to find a "bathroom".
She followed Devlin around the Casino and waited for him to choose a game to play.

Re: ■□ Emptied Nest □■
Devlin laid his second tower of chips towards the dealers table crook. Throwing two initial hands, he caught a fair amount of numerical repitition. Counting cards wasn't as rare as it once was. So these days, a great deal of theatrics were necessary in 'selling' the hustle. Oblivious to Scarlet's monitoring, Decker played out his hand. The odds were high against Devlin's call...but he managed to win. (And big) Tipping the dealer, he sweetened the pot and threw in a nice bet. Not realizing another set of eyes were upon him:
Cobblepot's hired on help and part time mob freelance enforcer...Painkiller.
The man stood tall and wide at nearly 6' 9. Weighing easily in at 290-300 lbs. Plus? Solid and penitentiary built. The jailhouse tattoo work meshed well upon his dark mahogney fleshtone. One particularly proninant arm tatt seemed branded into his dark complexion. A skull with an ' RX' symbol. Clean and refined dreadlocks pulled back snugly to his scalp. And donning a fine Versace ensemble, allowed a graceful elegance to his otherwise rugged exterior. Sunglasses eqyiped with monitor inlaid lense. Allowed for every pit boss and security personel to see from camera domes above tables, while watching freely simultaneously.
Though Devlin hadn't seen the casino guard.(or so it seemed)) He didn't make notice blatantly. A retainer per federal decree held high ransom on Painkillees head. But obtaining the man, had been the trick? Which would explain the asiatic beauty with doe eyes staring at him, while observing Devlin's game.
Chen Lao had. (Better known as 'Shang-Shang', her UN Agent callname.) Agent 006, Lao was dutied to watch over this renegade outlaw. As well look into a freelancer who was recently hired on...Scarlet Hex. Spotting Painkiller was merely additional collateral.

Re: ■□ Emptied Nest □■
Scarlet watched her target apparently cheating at the game of cards. She shook her head and was about to talk to him about the proposition until she saw the big guy, apparently a bouncer.
She sighed. "Can't ever be easy..." She said under her breath. She walked the rest of the way to the table and grabbed Devlin's hand as he added to the pot.
"Darling. Our table is ready." She said to the man with as genuine a smile as she was able to. "You can play more later." She said and started to pull him away from the table.

Re: ■□ Emptied Nest □■
His face hooded in scowl and beard gruff. If cleaned up, the man had model worthy looks and a Gigolos eyes. A natural charisma with tough exterior. The soldier, exposed Beauty intervened at the absolutely most intolerably acceptable moment of the games hand. The GUSTO diminished with a woman's delicate caress. Immediately the players around the table glared at the both of them. His money fully IN on the pot. Devlin at first nearly responded with only the winnings on intent. Then realizing he had seen the maiden before him, if only briefly so before? he went with his internal gut. An intuition that occasionally gave glimpses of fast forward realities that manifest him?
"My ...my .... boss-lady, you caught me RED handed?" He said in a jokingly awkward tone. NOT selling his deception well.
The players grumbled enough to make the dealer signal security to approach. At that :
"Excuse me sir...Would you TWO like to come with me please. The house would like to grant you....a gift for all of your spending this evening. A comp. of sorts, if you will. The grip upon both of Devlin's arms were a torn match. Though Scarlet's was outmatched by the nearly obsidian man, Painkiller. Whom hatefully tried to capture the moment of surprise, before making a scene publicly.

Re: ■□ Emptied Nest □■
Scarlet frowned angrily. She didn't have time for this. "No, excuse ME! You are interrupting a very important dinner with the General of the Army! We are talking about a man who reports directly to the president and my date is already making me late for this. So step aside and let me pass... or I'll have to invoke my responsibility of a full army arrest and investigation of this casino." She said in her commanding tone, as if she were talking to the men of her squad. She was absolute in her resolve and waited for security to back down.
If they didn't, and part of Scarlet hoped they didn't, they would have to face her head on.

Re: ■□ Emptied Nest □■
"Alright...alright...alright hotstuff. The nice man here is merely offering us a comp....''
Devlin tried to smooth over the mTter with misdirective intention. Knowing little of the woman's intention, though he used the ruse sition to his benefit.
Painkiller however wasn't amused. But knew Mr . Cobblepot wouldn't appreciate the spectacle. Stepping back from the air, he let them go ...for now.
"Whats that. ...Nd do I know you?" Decker said to Scarlet as they left the table.

Re: ■□ Emptied Nest □■
Scarlett glared at the "hot stuff" comment. "We met before." SHe said shortly. "You're an idiot, you know that, right?" She said as she continued to walk through the crowd. "And I wasn't lying. You are making me miss a dinner that could advance my career to the next stage." She shook her head, mad at herself for choosing to talk to Devlin over the Generals. "Must be out of my god damn mind." She huffed and led him outside so they could talk.
