The girl had a brief 'deer-caught-in-the-headlights' moment as CC approached her. She almost scooted to the side, thinking that the other girl was headed for the counter instead.
But she was obviously looking AT her, not past her, and after her split second of slight panic, she steadied herself, smiling in a friendly, if puzzled, manner.

Tsukiko looked puzzled briefly and smiled. It was weird of her to assume Arya and CC knew everybody from school. It was pretty big for that. She smiled at her own silliness and offered a friendly wave and smile to the green girl as CC approached. Tsukiko leaned over to offer Arya a hopefully reassuring smile and briefly lowered voice, "I don't know if she like Brandi? But that is what friends are for, yes? Even new ones. You don't have to worry about that while we're around. Besides, maybe she is really nice."

Walking with purpose the short blonde walked across the shop straight at her interesting new target absolutely forgetting about her bi-chromatic eyes. CC had a great bright smile on her face as she approached the green skinned plant girl taking a deep breath as she extended her hand words began to emanate from her mouth at an exuberance and speed of an advertising disclaimer. "Hello; I see you have a Platinum Heights shirt on. My name is Catherine Cameron but everyone just calls me CC and that over there" As she Pointed at her friends
"Is Arya and Tsukiko they go to PH also, and we were just here enjoying some Ice cream after school. and like; we saw you come in wearing that shirt, and like I thought to myself there is another girl possibly from our school and like what is even better than hanging with friends at the ice cream shack after school, and that is making even more friends and hanging out with them at the ice cream shack. So would you like want to come over and hang out with us? Oh! and I like totes love your hair" she finally stopped and took another breath looking at the girl with a bright smile and anxious eyes.

The girl was speechless for a second as she tried to catch up with CC's quick-fire statements. At first all she registered was the last remark about her hair which she gave a stuttered 'thank you' in response. Then the rest of what she'd said finally began to sink in.
"SCHOOL! I mean, yes I go to schoo.. Platinum Heights."
The realization that someone had come up and asked her to join them in a friendly way finally sunk in and the girl's smile went from puzzled to excited.
"Yes, sure! I'd love to join you!"
Another small flower blossomed on her head as if in response to her excitement.
"Oh, name," she exclaimed, just remembering she hadn't introduced herself. "Nettles. I mean... my name's Nettles."

Arya tilted her head curiously as she observed the plant grow. Her confused, and even concerned look turned to a look of excitement. "Someone who has life grow from them can't be bad." she mumbled to herself before waving excitedly at the new comer

Tsukiko looked puzzled briefly, whatever it was, Arya's worries seemed allayed. Kiko smiled and looked on over to CC and Nettles. Emboldened by CC's and Arya confidence, Tsukiko waved more emphatically than her first shy little wave, her voice no so soft. "It's nice to meet you! Have a seat with us."

Spurred on by Nettles acceptance of her invitation and the infectious waving of her friends CC bounced over to the booth they had been sitting at an motioned for the new girl to have a seat. Pointing to each of the other girls. "Tsukiko, Arya meet Nettles.Nettles my friends, They are really nice, and like you don't have to be all nervous like you are intruding on some long time friendships or anything. We all actually just met today in school. So, How long have you been at PH?"

Nettles said hello to the others as she sat down. They seemed quite welcoming as well and she felt herself relaxing a little.
"Not very long," she replied to CC's question. "Just under a year now. I've been taking... private lessons. To get caught up. It's really just me and two other students, so I don't know many people."
She took another taste of her ice cream, nibbling at the edge of the tiny cone.
"Oh, I like your eyes, by the way," she added to CC as though just remembering, staring at the other girl's mismatched eyes with her own similarly, but less vibrant, pink ones. She was probably maintaining eye contact for longer than was socially polite, but Nettles didn't seem to realize it.

Arya couldn't help but snicker at the comment about the eyes, but she dipped her head. "Oh! So you've been here longer than me! Do you like it?"
The young woman with a turkish accent exchanged a glance with the Japanese girl, before looking at the plant girl and cheerleader.

Tsukiko smiled to Arya and back across the table to CC and Nettles. "That's longer than me too. This has only been my first week, and until today. I 've been wishing we'd just move back to Kyoto. Everything is just so... in your face? here. I think that's right. Maybe with friends like I found today, it won't be so bad. Does it get any easier?"
